    Hi Solvent,

Thanks for reading. Who would have thought when I started this that it would take someone 3 days to read the entire thing:rolleyes:. I expected it to get lost amongst the zillions of debt free wannabee threads:o.

Just wanted to see feeling better about my job (probably because I'm at home), but I got my first pay (without any unsocial hours as I won't get them until next month) and I was really pleased (£1887.90) - its almost worth it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
I'm trying to be really strong because I just want to settle in and get on with it:rolleyes:.

Anyway I appreciate you taking the time to read through the entire thread - and hopefully I'll have lots more good news to report soon. Next haven't replied to my F&F - oh well. I expected as much, but thought they might write to decline it?

    Hi again Gargrave,
Your thread was never going to get lost because your spirit and personality shine through from your posts. As I said in my first post you're a real inspiration to a lot of us - so keep it up.

Re the job, it's very, very early days - hang in there, it will get better and you will start to feel less and less like the new kid on the block as the days pass. It's a temporary fix to solve a problem - that's all and you can handle that!!

I love the idea of you having a rant at an O2 advisor and then realising, mid-way through the rant, that you were no longer with them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. I was probably in the same queue as you cos the O2 broadband's been !!!!!! today .....

    Keep smiling.
    SS x
PS: Good luck with Next - hope they finally see sense!
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)

After ranting at o2 after a 15 minute wait to speak to someone - I remembered I changed my broadband to Sky (as it was free) - oops:p

Hmm sounds like me = we had a burst pipe and I tried to phone Barclays for a claim, they couldn't find the policey and I was getting really annoyed with them when I remembered I'd gone with more than this year !

Well, not sure whether this is exciting news but...........................

Last night before hubby and I went out I had a call from Next Directory re: my F&F offer letter..................

Decided to play hard to get and told them I was just sitting down to my evening meal and would they mind calling back tomorrow? I was very nice:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Mmmmm - are they really going to accept it:confused:? The suspense is killing me :p
Of course I want it written in blood first;)

Nothing much else to add - going out for lunch with my 2 best friends today:D - getting a free lift there and back thanks to generous feeling hubby - so it will be a low spend lunch. Exchanging belated birthday presents, so I'll have a little gift too:j.

Then home for an X Factor party and homemade pizza with garlic bread with DS and hubby. DS is gutted Jedward are out - but I'm very grateful:rolleyes:. We make X Factor posters every Saturday night (with paper Gran pinched out of her work!) and pretend we are in the audience by way of cheap entertainment! Might treat myself to a half price bottle of wine from Tesco - will see how "anebriated" I get at lunchtime I suppose!

Hubby and I had a 40th birthday party last night to go to - total spend £35 including taxi there and back - it was held in a little hall so the alcohol was very cheap. Drank just the right amount to feel well this morning and have a nice time:T.

Will of course update you all when Next call back (hopefully grovelling for my £200 F&F:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

Forgot to tell you all - waiting on a £20 cheque from Home of Research:j.

Almost finished the Xmas shopping too:D.

And before I get too smug - I have an inbox full of survey invites I've been putting off, and my voucher jar is almost empty:o.

Just realised last night - this is the first Christmas where we haven't put a single penny of a credit card:D.

Got a call back from Next yesterday - they rejected my offer:eek: (shocker:rotfl::rotfl:). They said it could not be accepted against my current balance:confused:. Oh well, carrying on with my reduced payments forever more then:o.

Nothing much else to report today. Must check my bank account as we did some Christmas shopping yesterday:eek:

    Hi all!:j

I've been brain-dead as on nights since Tuesday and on a long day tomorrow:o. Last night was a nightmare shift - 2 major emergencies within 6 minutes and a final emergency section 20 minutes before the shift ended:eek:.

Anyway, hubby just called me to say Bank of Scotland called re: VISA. This is MY AA Visa which hubby is an additional cardholder on:cool:. They basically discussed the account fully with him, and asked him to confirm MY security:eek:. Is this a breach of the data protection act? Just wondered if anyone knew as he has given them my mobile number and I'd love to give them hell:D.

I'm not sure but it sounds like it is. Glad to see (hear? read?) you back, I was getting a bit worried when you hadn't wrote anything for a few days.
