I've been brain-dead as on nights since Tuesday and on a long day tomorrow:o. Last night was a nightmare shift - 2 major emergencies within 6 minutes and a final emergency section 20 minutes before the shift ended:eek:.
Anyway, hubby just called me to say Bank of Scotland called re: VISA. This is MY AA Visa which hubby is an additional cardholder on:cool:. They basically discussed the account fully with him, and asked him to confirm MY security:eek:. Is this a breach of the data protection act? Just wondered if anyone knew as he has given them my mobile number and I'd love to give them hell:D.
hiya i agree that i feel your personal data has been divulged, did he have it taped the phone call any chance???
i would put it into writing as a complaint and check out the information commisioner office site out a bit,
he is not an account holder only has the authority to spend on your aa account, i really think you should persue this
since you could argue that he may be a signatory but the personal activity on the account is only to do with you and not him, ie you do not want him to know what the outstanding balance is for example
if they have given him account information i would investigate further
good luck and give them hell
cheers mazSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Truecall device, stops all the unneccesary phone calls - my sanity has been restored and the peace in the house is truely priceless!:rotfl:0 -
Hi Gar, have just had a quick (not!) catch up on the last months worth of your news.
Shame about the house and Next
Hopefully, the job will get less stressful when you have been doing it for a long time. It must be rewarding though, hearing the newborn cry is a lovely sound.
Will you be able to get home over the Christmas period at all? I hope you do, though delivering babies on Christmas day must be a special thing to do.
Take care

Hi Gargrave,
I think this possibly is a breach of DPA. As far as I'm aware, a third party (ie, your hubby) has to be authorised to speak on behalf of the account holder before any information can be given. I know this applies to inbound calls but I'm not 100% sure on outbound calls, ie where the company calls you, but would think it's the same. Might be worth giving the ICO a call if none of the peeps on here can give you a definite answer.
Take care

Hi, sorry all I've been caught up with work, and when I'm home I've been busy with the family. I have a load of letters to catch up with, so off to do these. Will post copies up before I send them of course!
