Nothing much doing for obvious reasons - I can't get any post as its at home in Glasgow and I'm not . Going home Wednesday morning - managed to get a cheap seat on National Express for £15:D.

Will find out what is lurking for me from the postman and keep you all up to date. Spending the day doing laundry and going through all the survey invites I've been ignoring in my inbox!:T

£15 is a good price for a ticket. Surveys are just the thing for a miserable wet Sunday.:j

Would be excellent if you got a chance for a house you've had your eye on for 5years - I'd imagine its still likely to be for sale in the new year, not much sells at this time of year. Is it far from where you live now?
Even more motivation for debt busting.:j

Thanks Tixy, its probably ten minutes walk from where i am just now, however it is a stunning semi-detached victorian house with 3 bedrooms, a lounge, dining room, large kitchen and den. Exactly the living space we need, and stunning gardens. Its the house of my dreams :A- here is a link to the schedule for those of you who fancy a nosey!!!

I know its not a great time to be increasing our outgoings however, the house next door sold for £345,000 15 months ago and wasn't as nice inside:eek:. I feel it would be a great investment, and our income is about to rise by around £2000 a month. Our own house is thought to be worth around £150,000 and they are still selling quickly around our area. Food for thought................

The job is fine - still orientating so not being a "proper midwife" yet!!!! Will keep you all informed as I get down to the nitty gritty!

    Ooo always like a nosey....

....that house looks great, I can understand why you would be so keen. I love traditional older properties - I can't imagine ever living in a new house. Fingers crossed that you manage to get it somehow. Are you going to arrange a viewing when you are next home?

    Ditto! :rotfl:

It looks beautiful - great outdoor area.

Is it worth doing the sums to see how it would work out?

My friend is an Estate Agent (even Estate Agents have to have friends :rotfl::rotfl:), and she has offered to sell ours at cost (no commission). Also she is under the impression that they would accept an offer of £190k as they have already emigrated:rolleyes:

A viewing is a good idea - if nothing else its free entertainment (in fact should we promote house-viewing as a free day out to people on this site who spend too much on entertainment :rotfl:)

Inside info as well - I think that house is meant to be yours Gar!:T

That would keep me entertained for months :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Going to speak to the mortgage company tomorrow to get an idea of 1. what we owe just now and 2. how much they would lend us and finally 3. what the repayments would be. Then I can make a rational decision:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. However, seriously the problem would be that we need to sell ours and that means shelling out £500 for a home report. Must work on debt, must blitz the debt if we have any chance of living happily in the house of our dreams!
