Its official - my CRB came through today (criminal records bureau check) and I'm not a criminal therefore my job in London is confirmed. Just waiting on my blood results being forwarded to them by our occupational health which should take 5-7 days. Then once my registration comes through I am off :)

Just dug out my Bank of Scotland paperwork, and I reckon their 14 working days from receipt of my acceptance form finishes on Friday, so hopefully the £560 will be in by then. If not, I'll compose a stern letter me thinks ;)

I'm a ipod girl - taking my entire CD collection out for a run is a bit tricky :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi Gar

Quick question re Bank of Scotland. We have a preference account with them - limit £500. I rec'ed correspondence from them today (looks like a payslip) and it states on it
    IMPORTANT NOTICE

Our representative will be calling your home on: 14th September 2009.

PLEASE TELEPHONE Blah Blah IF THIS IS NOT CONVENIENT

Have you ever rec'ed this type of mail? If so does it mean calling as in telephoning or calling as in knocking on my front door?

    Thanks and catch up soon

    Hi Blue,

I haven't ever had anything like this from HBOS (not yet anyway!!!). However, the OFT debt collection guidelines state that they cannot visit you at home without making an appointment, and there is a letter you can send them stating that you wish no such appointment and request that they do not visit your home. Will have a look for the template letter to send, and post a link in a mo xx Julie

Blue Jeans - It probably means telephone call but is delibrately vague so you worry it could be a visit - you can send this letter to tell them not to visit you at home - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=23635529&postcount=64
If they do turn up tell them to leave and remember they have no right to visit your house. They have less rights than a paperboy so if they don't go then phone the police.
A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give
or "It costs nowt to be nice"
  • It doesn't bother me if they do call as it is in OH name and he won't be here. I think it probably is a telephone call as it hasn't even been passed to a DCA and only 2 months with reduce payment - they have made no contact with us other than the standard letter.

There is also no time stated just date.

I will wait and see what happens

    Thanks both for your help:beer:
