Do you know that was pretty funny for me considering I had a late night last night
.
My lovely new employer got back to me (because they too are fantastic).
12 hours shifts are 7am - 7.30pm and 7pm - 07.30am for nights.
8 hours shifts are 7am - 3.30pm, 1pm - 9.30pm and for nights 9.30pm - 7.30am.
Now as Alan will be working in construction he will be starting around 6am. That puts me in the !!!!!!. Unless Cole at 9 years old is going to stay home alone for an hour or put himself out to school!!!!!
What am I going to do:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Ok so its half ten and I've done loads of organising, emails, organised having Alan's tools shipped, paperwork, forging Alan's work dates because he got them wrong (don't ask I'm assured its all legal!).:eek:
All this and my son is still sound asleep. Can't start the hoovering then:D.
Have emailed a friend who lives beside us in Oz and whose son goes to the same school Cole is enrolled at. Thought I'd see if she had any bright ideas about a parentless child for an hour 3 mornings a week:rotfl::rotfl:. I usually find making it someone else's problem is the best solution:p.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

FWIW, here are my thoughts on the shift thing.
Regardless of whether you choose 12 or 8 hours, you're going to have a problem with childcare before school, so I would go with the option that gives you more free full days to spend with Cole and a predictable 3 days in the week where you know you need help.
With the 8 hour shifts, you'd be doubling the problem by not being certain whether you'd need morning cover or after school cover, over more days, but with the 12 hours, you'll know that you'll need morning AND afternoon cover on the same day, but only those 3 days.
You're used to 12 hour shifts here and you've been grafting like crazy for the last couple of years, so this will be no different, but your 4 days off will be much more fun because of the beach, etc.

Don't you just love it when some sensible person looking from the outside in, slaps you with a wet fish and confronts you with the answer which was staring you in the face all along:).
Maybe I should give you decision making power in our family:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

And my lovely lovely Boss (current boss), phoned me last night to say they are posting a cheque to me with the money raised from a collection they did for me leaving. I'm going to buy something lovely in Oz like a mirror for our new home, and think of them every day

Sensible? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Can't possibly mean me then!
I don't even like having decision making powers in OUR family! I do however, seem to like poking my nose into other people's business and suggesting what they should do :rotfl:0 -
