i know this might be a bit belated but i would definitely use a letting agent, makes life soooooo much easier - it worked for me for 7 years. i hava a friend who only went to scotland from the westcountry but had tenants who just stopped paying the rent but wouldn't move out either - they had decided to let it themselves:(

I cant wait for the next installment. I printed Chapter One out, sat down with a cuppa and read aloud to Mr Pinot ! By the time I got to the last paragraph I was in tears. This is probably the soppiest thing I have every written, but echoing what others have said , many of us arent brutally honest as to our situations on our first posts in the diaries for many reasons, mine was mainly fear of being identified. To be honest as the diary has goes on, I dont think I care that much anymore and more little bits of info have leaked out and I'm sure people could quite easily guess who I am if they try hard enough ! :rotfl:

If you have every dared look at my diary Gargrave you will see that in my first post I credited you for giving me the courage to get this mess sorted. If it hadnt have been for stumbling across your diary and devouring every single word, gleaning tips, info etc etc , I think I would still be treading water now, or committed to the funny farm, instead of getting this mess sorted, so I need to thankyou soooo much for that and wish you and your family all the luck in the world when you finally make the move to Oz !

Our stories and reasons for the debt arent particularly similar but for whatever reason I ended up quite emotional after reading !!

I would love to read the first few chapters of your book, so I will pm you when I get a second if you dont mind xxx

I feel the same way. After reading your diary I told my OH about it the following day and then found myself telling my mother snippets of it too the next day during our usual monthly long telephone chat, (free to call for an hour on weekends and we put the phone down after 55 minutes and then I ring her back). I can't do it every week as I'd not have anything to talk to her about and we so love our long chats. LOL. My OH seemed to find the bits I told him fairly amusing too and agreed with me that you should write that book.
If you have every dared look at my diary

I've just dipped into your diary Pinot and am currently on 5 January 2012. I am so sorry but I'm sitting here giggling at first you and then your OH managing to lock yourselves out of the house on the same day. I'm half expecting to see it happen again somewhere further down the line.

As I said before it is your story and your diary that has made me more determined than ever to sort this sorry mess out. I've not yet got around to starting up my own diary but know that it is coming soon. It goes without saying that I wish you and your family all the very best for your fantastic new adventure.
I would love to read the first few chapters of your book, so I will pm you when I get a second if you dont mind xxx

I pm'd you last night but for some reason the message isn't showing in my outbox so I'm hoping you got it. An offer to read your first chapters and some initial thoughts to help you on your way. I can see another Shopaholics book series in your diary.

All the best for now - Grannyx2 :happyhear

    Hello!

I've not read the previous 400 odd pages, but something made me click on the last page of your thread and here I am! I thought you were a man to begin with, because of your user name :o.

Your biography bit though, could have been written about ME, it's astonishing how similar we are! I assume you qualified as a midwife and that is the reason you're able to emigrate?? I got SOOO close to being a New Zealand Midwife, something I'd still love to do, before my marriage ground to a halt. I'm a single Mum now. and I'm a chef instead of a midwife at the moment (VERY long story ). I'm fairly sure I wouldn't have enough points to get me even half way to OZ at the moment but it's my ultimate aim.

I'm wittering a bit really and I don't know why I clicked on the reply button but I loved your diary and wanted you to know that I suppose. You write really well, you should definitely have a go at something commercial!

I just wanted to say thanks for posting, your story sounds more interesting than mine! Australia was a dream for us, and look we are almost there!

wow I have just sat and read your story. its amazing, your journey into debt sounds very similar to mine as we got a secured loan too :( I did the same as you about hiding stuff and to some degree my OH still burys his head in the sand lol. So I am self managing our dmp now, hes useless and cracks too often.

But back to you, I have subscribed cos I cant wait to read more! your truly inspirational :)

    Hi JC

Nice to have you along, thanks for subscribing.

Secured loans are bad news, but then hindsight is 20/20 vision isn't it? Never mind, one day I will be rid :D.
