  • I'd use about 1/4 tsp and then taste to see if it needs more ;)

    As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add this to the baking QQ thread to keep ideas together.

    Not really able to taste to know if more needed as it is my daughter who is doing it and her taste buds will be undeveloped in that area. It does not help that she only has a basic sheet to follow from and from what she says teacher is not much use.

    Hi guys

    Last week , I found a thread made up of links (supposed to be no posts), which had one to a basic bread recipe which came out perfectly in my breadmaker.

    Now I can't find it, I've been searching for an hour :( . Will some kind soul please help me find it?

    Butter or other fat will do :D You'll either need to cream it into the sugar, rub it into the flour, or melt it and pour in.

    I don't think anyone has mentioned it in this thread so far....................so my tip is to have a washing up bowl (with hot water & washing up liquid) ready to quickly wash the baking ingredients off your hands when you get an unexpected phone call or knock at the door.;)

    Also, if you enjoy the baking your relative or friend does............ask them for their recipe(s) now. I wish I'd asked my grandma for her recipes before she died.:sad:

    Okay, I have;

    6 eggs
    self raising flour
    sugar
    Icing sugar

    I've got various random other ingredients, but no spices/nuts or anything..

    I have some bananas but they are still ripe, so no banana cake.

    Looking for something tasty to take to work to fill me up, so I don't buy things at the shop lol ...
