they are baked.. just cooling now..
Here is another question for you then.. because I know you like them :rotfl:
I have icing sugar to put on the top.. what can I do to make it taste nicer. I have lemons, limes, oranges etc.. can these be used to flavour the icing?
I don't have any chocolate or sweets..:(:(:p
he he. Mix the icing sugar with a few drops of water. Icing can be flavoured with fruit cordial , fresh fruit juice, coffee, cocoa, loads I can't think of right now
Buttercream icing too:)
How did they go?! :jA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I have about half a kilo of wholemeal self raising flour, about the same of mixed dried fruit, 2 pints of milk, 2 eggs, caster sugar and some hard muscovo sugar, some golden syrup, bicarb, spices etc
any ideas what quantaties and stuff i would need for a tasty fruit cake for about an 8inch round tin??
oh i have a pack of butter too if needed
thanks0 -
This is so simple and delish
1 cup of tea
375g mixed fruit
125g brown sugar
250g plain flour
1tsp baking powder
1/2tsp bicarb
pinch mixed spice
1 egg
soak the fruit in tea and leave for an hour or so (longer if you have time - can leave overnight)
Mix everything else into the fruit and bake in a loaf tin at gm / 170 for about an hour
I reckon could be done in a round tin and using w/meal flour with no probs.
To soften your muscovado but it in a bowl and cover with a damp teatowel overnight and it will soften upPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
