If there is a prize for laziness, I'll fight you for it! ;-)
Tonight's Intellichef extravaganza was going to be rice pudding, which I haven't tried in the machine before, and which might be interesting because half my household likes solid rice pudding and the other half likes sloppy, so we are all curious to see which one the recipe produces. However, it turns out that we haven't enough milk, so I'll have to save that experiment for tomorrow.
Instead, I am cooking lentil "bolognese"... I have softened onions, celery and garlic in olive oil on Fry with a dusting of chilli flakes, then added tinned tomatoes, water, tomato puree, green lentils, oregano, thyme, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, a touch of sugar to help the tomatoes along, and a hefty dollop of "Souper Mix" (a home-made alternative to vegetable stock, from the River Cottage Preserves book). The Intellichef is now set to Stew for an hour, although I will need to check on progress every now and then because I am not convinced I have put enough water in the pot. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. tonight i tried a chicken wild rice dish dish,,, red green and yellow, peppers chooped, mushrooms, choped, onion chopped, 2 chicken breasts chopped, 4 slices of smoked bacon, chopped, select, fry option, meat, 15 mins, put olive oil in bowl and let heat up for 4 mins, add every thing and fry for 11 mins turning as you would fry in a pan,, wash 1 cup of wild rice, one cup of basmati rice and add to intelichef, add 2 cups of veg stock or chicken stock, and press the rice button, when it beeps as done, open a tin of sweetcorn and add to the dish, leave to keep warm for at least 10 mins, yum yum , i must admit though, i added a can of chiken and sweet corn soup, which i had to keep going back and stirring, but i substituted this for the stock, but wow i thought it made the rice superior to the chicken, it was lovely0

Cooked the lemon cake from the recipe book the other day. It was slightly spongy (as I may have added a tad too much oil) and imo needed more lemon (and perhaps a lemony syrup) but other than that it turned out fine :0)MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0

And I tried the rice pudding from the recipe book. It produced the smooth, creamy sort rather than the firmer baked sort that I like, and it was far too sweet for me, but the rest of the family loved it. I would strongly recommend halving the quantity of sugar if you try it.
I also used the Intellichef to make mulled wine -- set it to Reheat for 8 minutes (time would vary according to quantity), then Keep Warm for a quarter of an hour or so while I organised glasses and nibbles. Worked brilliantly, and was very handy.
Tempted to try a cake now. I have got some spice syrup for mulling wine, and it needs to be used up. I'm thinking it might be nice soaked into a sponge cake, like a rhum baba. Hi all, so glad I found you! Hope you don't mind me joining in. I've just bought my intellichef, fresh out of its packaging, [all of it :rotfl:] and agree that the recipe book, although great for a beginner, will become tired very soon. So, my first challenge to you is: has anyone got a rabbit recipe? Thanks for the links to the Spanish recipes (I love Spanish cooking) and also the blog from bibliobubble. I thought I'g go out and buy a slow cooker recipe book, but as the intellichef is more than just a slow cooker, I will 'feed' off your expertise instead!0

Sorry, janeym. I missed your post over Christmas. The French Delicook site has several rabbit recipes:
Rabbit with almonds -- http://www.delicook.fr/recettes-delicook/lapin-aux-amandes.html
Rabbit with mustard and mushrooms -- http://www.delicook.fr/recettes-delicook/lapin-a-la-moutarde-et-champignons.html
Rabbit Marengo -- http://www.delicook.fr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=201&Itemid=1
Rabbit with thyme -- http://www.delicook.fr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=226&Itemid=1
Beauce rabbit -- http://www.delicook.fr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=198&Itemid=1
Two-meat risotto -- http://www.delicook.fr/recettes-delicook/risotto-aux-2-viandes.html
Hope this helps.
Terra_firma -- I don't buy it myself, but our local butchers often sell rabbit. And I have sometimes seen hand-written signs outside cottages, saying "wild rabbits for sale".This is a system account and does not represent a real person. By the way, I wrote a long list of detailed questions to Morphy Richards, asking for technical information about the Intellichef's operating temperatures, timing profiles and general use, and specifically asking about the differences between settings and between options within individual settings. Morphy Richards replied before Christmas -- with quite possibly the least helpful response I have ever come across: "We can confirm that the liquid will steam and boil at 100 degrees. The way each individual setting is controlled is through the timer rather than temperature. We hope this information is of assistance and assure you of our best attention to quality and customer support."
Bah! I am perfectly well aware that water boils at 100 degrees. It was the details of the timing profile that I was enquiring about! I suspect from this that Morphy Richards don't know the answer, and that they have merely licensed the technology from elsewhere. So the next job is to track down who actually owns the intellectual property, and ask them...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. One of the rice recipes in the original Spanish book has rabbit in it, but was amended (and pic photoshopped!) for our version.
Thanks to all for replying to my post and especially the French recipes
If you can't get rabbit locally try this link:
oops, new user not allowed to post links!
So if you google 'woldsway foods' it should take you to a rabbit mail order site. If not email me and I can send you the link.0 -
Has anyone tried bread in it yet ? Im still thinking of getting this -as finances got so tight I couldnt afford it. But if I can use this instead of my breadmaker and slow cooker tht would work out ok.
