But anyway 18185 is allowed - for now
So, for someone who doesn't make international calls or does to TT destinations, then its reasonable deal??
How much are their mobile rates compared to 18185??
Even if TT Line rental gave you access to route your traffic through BT to get cheap Ngn rates and they dont, how would BT charge you if your an account was not with them anymore?PF.0 -
Hi, I joined TalkTalk at the end of February on the free evening and weekend package. I also have my line rental with them.
I signed up yesterday with 18185 to get cheaper mobile and 0845/0870 no's. I tried this out on a mobile no today and had no problem. I am thinking of signing up with 1899 to get cheaper daytime calls. I am unsure if this will work as I am reading conflicting ideas about doing this as I have my line rental with TalkTalk. Some people seem to be saying its not possible???
I think after my 3 months is up I will go back to bt option one and follow your steps using the dialer but in the meantime looking for cheapest option.
Can anyone help please?0 -

How many pages of T&C do BT have ?
I do, and our T&C'sfor res customers is 2 pages for landline and 1 for broadbandThe views expressed on this website, be they in text, pictures or sound, are my own personal views. Not those of my employer, its staff or colleagues.0 -
Just been reading through the posts...Lets take a look at the facts, TT have introduced a product/service to entice people away from BT, C&W etc etc... I can't beleive for one minute BT and C&W etc will sit back and allow there customers just to leave there network. BT for one is a lot bigger company than TT and have more muscle in the telecoms market than TT so i would watch this space before changing to TT and getting locked into an 18 month contract!!
The other companies are bound to come out with other deals to match or better the TT Broadband Offer.0 -
I thought C&W were practically defunct? Or is Bulldog owned by them, i forget?0

At the moment BT aren't allowed to compete on price, this should be changing soon as OFCOM removes the requirement for them to not be able to set any price they like and compete. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I am generally sceptical about new offers but ...
I currently pay BT around £11/12 per month for the line and then pay Plus.com (with whom I am very satisfied !) around £16 pm for a broadband service with a 2 - 3 Gb monthly cap. Total cost is the best part of £30 and I still have to pay 3p per call for 1899 UK calls and 0.5p per minute for 18185 calls to Germany (which I make regularly).
What exactly do I have to lose by this deal which is going to fix my rate at around £21 per month ?? Even if it increases by 50% over the 18 month period - and it won't - I am still no worse off. In addition if I sign up now I do get the Broadband for life deal.
So wheres the catch ? I ber that my BT line alone has way more than 18 pages of T&C !!0 -
The catch is TalkTalk broadband is unreliable now, this can only be worse when they add more customers, as they can't cope now with the ones they have.
I'd wait and see what the others offer. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Theres broadband and theres broadband .Would you prefer the tried and tested service that works, or the untested under pressure free service.

Interesting discussion happening at SAYNOTO0870.COM - the experts have pointed out many flaws and disadvantages of TalkTalk's "Free" Broadband offer
I'll definitely be giving TalkTalk a miss...
