My apologies. It was the way in which you inserted (and replied to) quotes in your post which made me think you stated that.raggit wrote:no... i said, i know its £1.50, and i also know that we can give it to customers for free...
Try changing the text colour of other poster's text if you don't want to use the [QU0TE] and [/QU0TE] parenthesis method. It'll make it more obvious what you intend.
Yes, know about free Caller Display. I have it. From BT.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
raggit wrote:The IACB (indirect access call bar) to stop you using prefix accounts will only be added if a bill payment is missed, it then will not be removed. i have numerous accounts to hand in front of me, who have wlr and have had for some time now and none have IACB.
So does that mean I can use the 18185 with TalkTalk? Gets more confusing by the minute0 -
Raggit - can I ask why you wouldn't use talktalk??????Reality is an illusion caused by a lack of alohol.:beer:0

OK just a thought, why would you want to use 1899 etc when Talk Talk are offering free local and national calls with the deal?
BTW, I've just been to their website to check if I can get it and it keeps coming up with an error. Maybe it's just overloaded with enquiries?0 -

Calls to 0845 numbers are 4.5p a minute peak.
Popped into CPW today and got grabbed for "the talk"
When I said they didn't allow 18866 etc he said they did... but why would you want to use them as you got free unlimited local, national and international calls - couldn't answer - so.... anyone here know when you would want to (I later thought 18185 for mobiles??) any others??
He also said there was an over-ride number a la 1280 when you have CPS which would reroute the calls through BT network a la CPS - seems they're just taking over collecting the line rental not completely taking over the line??0 -
And you believed that?David_Mee wrote:..... seems they're just taking over collecting the line rental not completely taking over the line??Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. You dont get unlimited international calls only to certain destinations so you might want to use 1899/18185 to reach other destinations cheaper. You also might want to make cheaper mobile, and NGN calls via 18185.
Yes 1280 BT override works if you just CPS your calls to TT,but if you take TT line rental it does not.PF.0 -
their broadband service is awful. would'nt take it if they paid me. they use network trafficing to much, and tends to run very s........l.....o......wThe views expressed on this website, be they in text, pictures or sound, are my own personal views. Yes, but the poster could use his unlimited UK call (01 & 02 prefix) allowance to access 18866/1899/1815 for calls to countries outside of those offered free of charge in the bundle.0 -
Run that past me again would you?Steve_xx wrote:Yes, but the poster could use his unlimited UK call (01 & 02 prefix) allowance to access 18866/1899/1815 for calls to countries outside of those offered free of charge in the bundle.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
