    Hey

Good to see the debt has gone down... i've totalled mine up but not posted on here yet but mines is £26879.10 which is only £29.48 more than yours ;)

Maybe in the new year we could start a mini monthly challenge to see what we can manage in a month.... just an idea and i know u've lots on but could be worth a go??

You should definately go to the docs with OH it might help you understand a bit better just how he is feeling about things. I went back to docs and have some tablets that should help to try and control my mood swings which my OH has had to deal with for months.... i just didn't want to go get help.... thought i could deal with things on my own.

I know exactly what you are saying about debt management plans i feel exactly the same about them. I know we can both do this... it will take time and alot of patience but we will get there in the end.

Glad you had a nice day today

I really really hope this approach works for you. I hope that it means OH can grow into a better person psychologically. I hope you have the strength to follow through with it if he resists. Good luck with it. Maybe this will be a new start.

Thanks. Buddiebabe - let's definitely have a challenge in the new year. We are neck and neck! wouldn't it be fab if we could both get down to 20k by this time next year? *dreams*

I hate "me too" posts ... but ... me too!

Hi! I've not posted in a while but I always read your thread when it pops up with new posts.

I hope you don't mind my sticking my two pennies-worth in but anyway ... whenever I read your thread I keep worrying that you are taking too much on yourself. You are trying to work full time, plus freelance work, plus shifts in the shop, plus politics, plus look after your kids, plus look after your parents, plus look after your OH - you'd have to be superwoman if it didn't get too much sometimes.

If it was me, I'd sit down, and try to work out what's most important. Maybe actively trying to earn enough money to reduce your debt is too much when you are trying to support the family with only person working. Perhaps you could reduce that pressure on yourself by accepting that your debt is at the level it is, and unless things change for the better, just try to avoid it going up any further.

If you aren't pushing yourself so hard, maybe it won't feel so bad that your OH is not able to give you the back up you need - and maybe he is feeling bad because he can't keep up with you so he has sort of given up. If you are more relaxed, it might take the pressure off him a bit.

I might be totally off the mark, but just my thoughts! Good luck with everything!
