Thanks everyone! I am so pleased! And stunned and amazed that all those people voted for me to represent them. It's all very daunting.
Also, I had a call from a friend and freelance colleague who wants to start sharing serious amounts of work with me. We are going to discuss details on Sunday but this could be the opportunity to go back to freelance home-based working and while I know that will ring alarm bells in everyone's minds, I am determined that now I would do it differently. I HAVE to make a success of the councillor thing - so I have to make the rest of my life fit around it. I will listen to what she offers on Sunday and weigh things up, but I can't help feeling that it is an answer to prayer, or the universe sending me just what I need.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well done...didn't see your result but guess you got elected0

Again...well done
Remember the hours you are meant to work at this though and try not to go *too* much over them, or you could get overwhelmed...my mum is planning on running later this year and I can tell she'd do much more than the allocated 20 hours! (is that what it is?)
Re the self employment - yay! Have you worked out the min outgoings each month? (daft question, I know you will have). Could the various income streams be guaranteed to cover this, so that the CCs don't become too big and the tax issues don't rise too much??
Ignore me if I'm talking rubbish - quite possible!?

Yes, between now and Sunday, do your prep so that you don't get caught up in the excitement of being able to freelance full time again.....if you have your "reality check" stuff done before you go, then things don't end up being a bump down to earth afterwards if you see what I mean....that way, it should be easier to keep things properly in perspective as you go...
There is no reason why it shouldn't all work. You just have to MAKE it work!
