good luck with the result in the election. well done on the debt reduction. As for the job, staying or going it must be very hard. This new position, they don't seem to know what they are doing....95% certain of the work is not good enough in your position, especially as you have, I think grown used to a steady wage......

Thanks everyone for the kind words and good wishes!

Yes it's good to have passed the half way post in the debt. Just to torture myself I will point out that it is entirely down to loan payments. Both my credit cards and overdrafts are considerably higher than they were on 1 Jan 2007.
    Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.62

But the total figure has gone down by £25k.....however that has happened, it is an excellent reduction in your debt.

Stop beating yourself up over it and celebrate a little xx

It's been said already, but I'm always ready to be a sheep when the situation warrants it ...

The TOTAL FIGURE is down by a MASSIVE amount - what does it matter which bit of it is down? When the loan is finished, think of all the extra money that can be thrown at the credit cards. Then you will really see the figures racing down.

    OI!!!!

So what if it's the loan that's bringing down the total. The fact is that you are REDUCING the debt faster than growing it. Therefore being a star!!! :D

Hi Seaxwyn after you posted on my new diary I realised I had lost touch with you too so I have been reading and catching up.

I am really on your side with avoiding DMP I know exactly how you feel and you are paying off the debt and OK it may be the hard way but you can hold your head up high when you are done and say I did it :)

I am not sure if I want you to win the election or not debtwise and stresswise it is probably a bad thing but for you personally it might be a good thing - we will let the voters decide on that one :rotfl::rotfl:

I really hope the job situation gets sorted and that you get to do a job you really enjoy with a decent pay packet so that you can continue paying down those debts :D

I shall be watching in eager anticipation
