Dont get married.........and use your money for the debts.
Simples......
Oh and maybe sell her too.
P.S. Just joking!0 -
Ha ha, thanks Hughes84, but I am the her so I'd have to sell him, which isn't a bad idea! :rotfl:
Unfortunately we can't cancel the wedding now as its at least half paid for so we're tied into the contracts, but almost all the money is saved for it anyway so it won't affect our debt busting!x

I think it's lovely that you're still getting married! As much as we all want to be debt free as soon as possible, you can't let debts get in the way of life. I can't wait to be DF but I don't want to be totally miserable while I'm clearing it! It might take a bit longer, and I might pay a bit more interest, but at least I feel like I'm living, as opposed to surviving.
I do wonder what it would be like not to be throwing all disposable income at debts though!! I'm mystified that my friends who I know don't have debts aren't rolling in it :rotfl:
Right, enough serious stuff! Have a fab weekend - onwards and upwards and all that! xLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
I recently sent off over 100 grams of gold to Money4Gols using their Goldpak and got a cheque for £108!!!
I sent it back immediately and sold the gold on my LOCAL MARKET for £650!!
They are real rip-off merchants- keep away.So its been a few days since I last posted, and a slightly "off-the-wagon" weekend as far as debt repaying goes.
I had an optician's appointment on Saturday and was disgusted to hear that my direct debit is shooting up again (they are an absolute nightmare, I've had so many problems with them) so I've decided to cancel and will order my lenses online, and have a yearly check up somewhere. It will work out a LOT cheaper!I'm on the basic lenses which hurt and dry my eyes out and it costs £25 per month, I can get the super-duper Acuvue ones for that price (I got measured for them on the pretence that I was thinking of upgrading so know my prescription! :rotfl:)
Sunday I went to Milton Keynes to visit my best friend who lives up there, and we had a TGI Friday lunch (bit naughty!). This cost around £30 for me and OH which is not great, but I don't feel too bad as we've not been out in ages. We then met some other friends on Sunday night and had a takeaway (v.naughty - £15 - oops!) and a bottle of supermarket own vodka together with a 5am bedtime, oops again! :rotfl:
Oh well, for falling "off the wagon" I don't think it was TOO bad!
So I'm back on the wagon now. This week I am anxiously waiting my cheque for the gold to see how much that was worth, and have posted all my ebay sales. I am running out of things to list so will have to try and think of some other things to do. I already do surveys, scratchcards, quidco etc. I may look into doing babysitting, or making my own jewellery or something like that.
We've got OH's best friend's wedding on Saturday as well so the debt busting may be a bit quiet this week and then full steam ahead from next week onwards. The aim for this month: to get under £7,000! :j x0 -

Thanks Poodle, I totally agree! Whilst I want to be debt free, whilst we are managing our debts I'm not going to stop living to pay them off. We've both worked incrediably hard to get the qualifications we've needed and now we're both in our mid twenties wondering what happened to our youth! :rotfl:
I'm not going to put the wedding off to get debt free quicker, as it will just mean we will be miserable for the next year and a half and then have to start saving for the wedding all over again (its taken us 2 years to save for the wedding as it is.
Obviously if we were struggling to make the minimum payments and living hand to mouth then I would cancel the wedding and pay off the debts, but until that happens (hopefully never), the wedding goes ahead! :rotfl: xMortgage when started (Dec 2013): £157,272.50

Well its been a while since I've been on and I am hanging my head in shame!
The good news is the debts haven't got any higher, but the bad news is they haven't got much lower either! I've managed to sell some ebay stuff at the weekend for £30 and OH is selling his phone for £50 so there are a few little bits being thrown at the debts, but nothing significant.
I would like to get under £15,000 by the end of the year but I think that's unlikely! :rotfl:
Anyway, how is everyone else? Have I missed much? xxxMortgage when started (Dec 2013): £157,272.50

Ooh and also, I've started a blog to chart my wedding diet to keep myself motivated (similar to this, there's something about having to "come clean" to the world that stops you from being naughty!
).
