  • It is a time consuming affair though isn't it. Really do have to plan a whole day at it, and be v organised with menu/shopping.

  • Once I get into the swing of it, i have to say I quite enjoy it....I had the irish stew in the oven while I was making the curry in a pan, and had spag bog simmering at the back, it was all very synchronised!!

not something I would do every day, but once a week for two or three weeks will actually set us up for a month or two, so I suppose I will actually have more free time because of it!! which is good, more time and more monay cant be a bad thing!

get delivery for Mr T (yup, all on grocery challenge!)
take DS to his gran's (OH did this!)
do all 3 mystery shops (in a circle so I end up in town centre) (yup)
go to bank and put in SIL money for flights (and i transferred it back to savings, resisting the urge to buy the afirementioned freezer!)
buy blank canvas for centre piece (I'll discuss this one later)
go to Mr T for reduced freezebles, beer on offer and gym shoes for DS (yes already!) (darn, forgot the shoes!! shouda printed my list lol)
get paint sample from b n q (for the canvas) (yup, 2 shades!)
build coat stand (avoiding this, looks complex!)

then i think i'll call it a day lol, and if anyone fancies doing the ironing for me, they are welcome to it, i pay handsomely in tea and buscuits!!
    god i hate ironing!! x

ref the ironing, jaffa cakes and jammie dodgers to any takers! :rotfl:

well, talk about a hard bargain...we have a new ethel austin store in town, and my mum mentioned that they were selling blank canvasses for £8, so i popped in, had an awful time of it, the chip n pin machines were not connecting properly, and the manager in the end told me that its clear i dont have the funds to pay...I had cash on me to pay but to be honest I didnt want them to have my money after that!

Anyhoo, I will be going back to get the canvas, but just not at the momento!!

no task list today with it being sunday, will just do whatever the mood strikes!!

however my mini challenge for the week is to list 10 items on ebay, I keep putting it off but i know that its the best way to make some extra money!

whew, tis a long post, sorry guys about that!! Im done now! :T

  • Sounds like u r organised Kirsten.

Making fish fingers - i'd never thought of that. We usually get the cheapy ones and they r fine. Do u know how much they cost per portion when u make them? I fancy doing that!!

Did your lure of biscuits get your ironing done? I've started mine but its too much! ha ha

Good luck with everything - it sounds as though you are on the ball (and ouch to DSs allergies - I have a fatal nut allergy and that scuppers shopping in Tesco for one thing!)

  • hey guys,

BH, the fish fingers I make are with DS wheat free breadcrumbs, so they do cost more than standard fish fingers, but i have noticed that the ranges are depleating a bit in the frozen allergy sections accross the board...although I buy a huge thing of normal breadcrumbs too and make them for us, they do about 10-15 batches, and I use egg replacer, only buy cod etc when its whoopsied, got 6 fillets for £2 the other day, bargain!! so it probably wouldnt cost more than bargain ones in the supermarket i reckon. I'll cost it out when I make them next (meant to be today but I marinaded some chicken wings for lunches instead!)

Dragon, you're right, the allergies are tough but much better recently, as we have only just introduced soya into his diet which means that he can have sooo much more, and cooking from scratch really does help to give him a bit of a variety. DS is anaphylactic to nuts and wasp stings, even contact with someone who has eaten a nut sets him off, its frightening!!

He did a school report the other day 'all about me' and hes supposed to give likes and dislikes, and he said that he likes having allergies cos he doesnt eat junk food! hehe, only someone with allergies would say that lol

anyhoo, ill be back in a mo, signing up to game rental, finaly convinced OH!!! x

Re home-made fishfingers and chicken nuggets - one of the best things is cornflakes - crush them up and away you go - also weetabix, crumbled up......

It is a really good way of using up the crumbs at the end of the cereal packets.......

.......you can tell I've been doing this a long time :rotfl:
