Evening all
Back from work and beaver run. W is in bed and Miss A is out bell ringning, SW1 is out at the new HP film tonight so was not babysitting so Miss A get's to stay out laterThey still have another week  of school but as they won't be doing much work now I figured what the heck.
I will be kernackered tomorrow as I am at work for the 4th dau this week :eek::eek:. Due to staff moves (again:rolleyes:) I am expecting to be asked if I want extra hours next week at another branch. But given that the only staff in on one of the days will all be new and it will be their first day there I think I will be too busy to help!carlsberggal wrote: »Quick question whilst I'm having a breather from my 5 challenges - how long should I keep bank statements/card statements/leccy bills etc for? Have about 4/5 years worth here, ever since I got my own bank accounts etc when I split from XH
Bank statements and ccards I would keep for 2 years, utiliy bills for 1 year. Insurance docs you might want to keep 5 yrs worth to prove no claims but as a minimum I would keep the previous year policy along with current year. If you have to fill in your own tax return then anything needed for that you need to keep for 7 years. P60's I have kept all of them, binning payslips for the year once P60 has arrived. I think I might find it quite hard, I know from before it makes it all even more final.Well have just had 2 awful days and the result is that my house is back on the market due to a very fussy buyer ........Good riddance
Now rant over I am off to search for my list, the chip shop and my bottle of Gordons!
Well done one the weight loss - try not to put it all back on toniight with your gordons and chips:rotfl::rotfl:
grateful yes approached as blueberry says i think it would be a good idea - try looking at it from their point of view - what would they lose- what would they gain - is it part of a lovely view they have so by you taking over would they be concerned about what you do that might spoil the view - what would you do with it as you will need to tell them to reassure them - what about asking to rent it first and if that goes well then ask to buy once you have proved that it wont affect them. jus some food for thought in case you had considered some thing - dont mean to offend. If I was in thier shoes and i was in fact struggling financially and physically I would be grateful.
carlsberggal - utilities - one year is enough - bank stements you should keep for 6 years as thats how long the taxman can go back but a lot of people dont as you can get duplicates from the bank (but it costs you money) and if you do online banking you can go back and get them there so you dont need paper statements.
card statements - I dont have any but would have thought a year is ok but somme of the others will help out I am sure- Valli is excellent on what to keep and for how long and Greenbee - remember that card statemnts with large items purchased on them that you still have and are under guaranteee might need to be kept as it is covered by the card insurance protection thingy I think???? Just ignore me - AnW's Mum has better advice:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Anw'sMum I think I would be busy that day too - you watch they are not taking the michael:rolleyes: I know the extra money is useful but you dont want to be knackered as well!!!! xx

Well have just had 2 awful days and the result is that my house is back on the market due to a very fussy buyer who has been looking for over a year and wants an old house which does not require any maintenance.
 Nugget; why doesn't she buy a new house then  Sorry it's all so stressful :Agratefulforhelp wrote: »Can I ask you wise flypeople a question...
Would it be rude to approach a neighbour to ask if I could buy part of their garden?
Don't think it's rude at all - they can always say noWe're in a similar situation with elderly neighbours. We'd like to buy some of their large garden to keep pigs :T
The AGM went well, and the cake was delicious (chocolate, and my friend ate my blue icing :T ). DH has been invited to the pub. I'm going to tag along for one as my friend's dad will be there (he's from near Fort William and is great fun). I'll leave them once the quiz starts, and come and chat to you lot :j

And I have DH bank stuff dating back years - but I'm going to send off claim to get back bank charges - if they ever decide to say they are unfair. I once worked out that before I knew him and took over finances he had amassed around £1800 in charges!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
MSE Martin believes that DH's bank will be one of the first to be done, once court case is over, so I think should I keep it all or get them to send me on one letter all the charges they have taken??To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0 -
