How do you really know what she is like at work and how she speaks to people?
Maybe she is one of those arrogant, cheeky, patronising souls that I deal with on a regular basis
I wouldn't want to do their job either - but if they don't like it they can move on and look for something else - it's their choice - maybe if they spoke to people in a more respectful manner they wouldn't get the grief back
On a lighter note, there is a site called ratemyteacher, I think one should be created called ratethecsastaff
I haven't had the correct service from the CSA over the past 4 years, however, I have to say that I've only had one obnoxious persion who spoke to me in a patronising `couldn't care less` manner when I've had issues which needed resolving. (and I am still in the process of resolving my CSA issues) I believe that the CSA front line staff whom I have spoken to did not know a lot, ie; hadn't been trained in all the complexities of rules and regulations which leaves a huge gap in how effectively they are able to help us when we have an enquiry. But that comes down to the senior management and how they tackle the training that is required in a job like that.
But, if I can say this, without winding anyone up......you get what you give.:o
I've always tried to be pleasant and polite when talking to CSA (or anyone for that matter)... why? because I've found that they are more interested in going the extra mile for me. I've got a great rapport with the gentleman who is now helping resolve my arrears issues with my ex, and have thanked him many times for all he is doing. I think to be fair, some CSA staff are doing their best.
Sorry, I am not a saint..... If anyone gets a CSA staff member who are rude and obnoxious....ask to speak to their supervisor.0

All I can say is that if you have had people that talk to you as a reasonable person then you are lucky, the norm is they know everthing end of! Must be nice to know everthing!
I have had to tell people that work forthe CSA not to talk to me as a child or this conversation will get abrupt on many occasions.
It is not a matter of comunication skills, but training. Simply put they dont know what they are on about most of the time, and if you are in position of the law and read it to them, they then say the conversation is abusive and hang up!
I now only have comunication with them in writing, as then have to signe it and then cant change what they have said! It is also evidence, some of which is now at the Court of Appeal, shame!
I have had dealings with most of the CSACs when helping other people sort out the mess that the CSA in their wisdon and ignorance have so able left. All comunication is now in writing, I am also told that if my name comes up on a case then it goes to SRT or what ever has replaced it. A barraster has also told that there is "Executive Intrest" in my case as wqell as the ones that I am involved with, must have got through to someone!0

I agree Blob, best to put everything in writing, especially when a pattern of consistent errors arise.
I now summarize my most important conversations form my case worker and send them a copy. At least that way there is a clear idea of what you discussed.0

            Kids cost the earth!
Damage to furniture, DVD players, wall paper.. breaking things, dropping things.. uniforms.. clothes, nappies, toys.. blah it goes on and on..
.. PWCs absorb all these costs but they STILL cost money!:cool:0

This is not directly linked to the whole of your post.
We all know the csa have had more cases than staff for years. Targets are a good thing when systems are running smoothly. At the moment csa are still behind overall.
Looking at the obvious if you have to produce 90% of assessments within 6 weeks, then any case already outside that timescale is possibly going to be continuously overlooked (no benefit to staff and doing those cases could then affect achievement on other cases whish could meet that deadline). Perhaps a short-term solution would be to identify everything that will not meet the various deadlines and allocate those to a separate team - that team could then have targets of do within x weeks of receiving it, and as an incentive the parents are given a cash amount for each day beyond the later allocated timescales.0

Better idea, do the job they are paid to do for the money that they are paid! They ALL knew what the pay for the job was, so !!!!!ing about it now is ba**s. As for bounus, the rest of the country with the exception of the Banks wont get one so just why should these people? Besids in my opinion they arnt worth it as they make such a mess of the work that they are pais to do!0

Nobody is complaining about the pay on here - people were asking how much they are paid. They do do the job they are paid to do, but unfortunately there are only 24 hours in a day of which they work approx 8 (not including breaks) which is what they are contracted to do. If there are more cases than can possibly be dealt with in a day and no extra staff, then of course cases will be left. Whose fault is that? The poor staff who can't work any more hours? Or the decisions on the levels of staff required?0

TRhen it goes back to the comments made in Parlment and I quote "They are unfit for purpose" it is proved that they cant do the job why throw more Tax payers money to them. They cant do it now and very simply they never will be able to!
Just how much has this adventure cost teh country in money, but more importaltly who much has it cost kids in lost parents, both dead and left the country to get away from it? Untill someone has the guts to grasp the political nettle and close down this bunch of muppets it will only get worse, and that unfortunatly is being proved every day they are alowed to exist!0

I think a little bit of honesty from the workers / agency wouldn't go amiss - for example how many people have been told 'oh your caseworker has gone home for the day' when we know damn well that they are there - how many people have seen information on their data protection files that is completely incorrect or isn't recorded at all
and I notice that mommarat hasn't been back to answer any of my questions
anyone else care to defend the 'workers' (I use the term loosely) ?0

Maybe I just can't be bothered to argue with you I have better things to do, think what you like.:wall:frugallass wrote: »I think a little bit of honesty from the workers / agency wouldn't go amiss - for example how many people have been told 'oh your caseworker has gone home for the day' when we know damn well that they are there - how many people have seen information on their data protection files that is completely incorrect or isn't recorded at all
