Why does'nt PWC pay towards there child?

The point is that it is the organisation who are to blaim, and although the "front line staff" work for the 'organisation' they don't make the rules and as Kelloggs has said they probably as much in the dark about changes as every one else. You may get different people telling you different answers because they know more when you phone a second time and the third time etc... but if the comunication is poor they can only tell you what they know not what is going to happen.0
-
The front line staff don't make the 'original' rules up but they do make things up as they go along. If they can't answer my question I want them to tell me up front - be honest - I don't want them to make it up or give me a vague answer.
On a number of occasions I have had to deal with different offices (Falkirk, Belfast, Middlesborough) and have often received conflicting information. When I highlighted this I have been told 'oh, they don't know what they are talking about' or 'I don't know why they told you that'.
My husband was told by the CSA that 'technically' his liability for his daughter ceased on the day that she took her last exam at college (she's going to Uni in September). When I posted that on this forum I was told it was probably wrong information. However, I did cancel the direct debit and, so far, the CSA haven't been in touch. I just don't know who / what to believe anymore.
This is why I got my MP on board.
All I want from the CSA is consistency - I want to be able to look at their website and have all my questions answered, not some vague sentence about what 'generally' happens when a child leaves full-time education. I know that my ex is lying about his income, but the CSA aren't interested in pursuing my request to look at his lifestyle, his bank account, his house etc and explaining to me how on earth he can manage to live his life and feed his family (girlfriend, 3 kids and a dog) on £200 a week. How he can afford to pay a £100 for his daughters birthday, plus £26 to me, which leaves him with £74 to live on for the week.
I hate the CSA with a passion and have no confidence in their abilities.
The organisation is in a mess, the staff are in a mess and the whole system is in a mess. Fact.
 Rant over (sorry).0

There is no denying that the organisation is in a mess and that is why the government has passed it over to some other organisation to sort out 'washed their hands of it'. My interest in all this to be honest is that my daughter works their and I won't say too much on that because I don't want to get her into trouble. But I do take things personally when Bolt describes everyone on the staff as 'mindless dolts' They don't write the website they don't make the rules ist a job and a very hard one and they don't all agree with the rules they have to work from but still have to follow them. Some nights she will come home and say what a rough day it has been and other times, you may not realise, she actually gets thanked for all the help she has been. And I do truly believe that parents should pay for their children and there is no excuse for anyone running away from their responsibility. Its not an easy job and I can't speak for everyone who works their but the ones I know are definatly not mindless0

Mommarat Have you ever had to contact the CSA as a NRP / PWC ? Have you ever received a phone call from the CSA ?
I can sympathise with Bolt - I have have the pleasure of speaking to numerous 'officers' at the CSA and can honestly say that 99% of those conversations have left me feeling patronised, frustrated and angry.
The majority of the staff there don't give a damn about me, and don't understand what it's like to be a PWC / NRP and to be honest don't really give a 5h!te about helping people because all they are doing is earning a wage.
Not all NRP's are trying to run away from their responsibilities - some of them do exactly what is expected of them and still get grief from the CSA.
The officers on circa £15k a year speak to my husband (a NRP) like he is a piece of filth on their shoe - they have no right to do that, no matter who they work for.0

There is no excuse for anyone speaking to someone like they are sh... and as I have said I can't speak for everyone and their are probably people that work there that are like that. I said the ones I know are not. I also didn't say all nrp's run away from their responsibilities but some do, femaile nrp's are treated the same as the men. Personally I wouldn't want to do the job.frugallass wrote: »Mommarat Have you ever had to contact the CSA as a NRP / PWC ? Have you ever received a phone call from the CSA ?

In all job's and walks of life you will find someone who speaks to you like you are somthing on the bottom of their shoe and there is no excuse at all for that.0

What I was trying to say is that not everyone involved with the CSA is a non-compliant person. You stated:-I do truly believe that parents should pay for their children and there is no excuse for anyone running away from their responsibility
So in the context of the post, I don't understand why you put that unless you were having a go at NRP's
You didn't answer my question - are you a NRP / PWC ?
Have you ever had to contact the CSA?
You say that your daughter works for the CSA and you seem quite passionate about speaking for the workers so I wonder if you could tell me what qualifications your daughter has, how much training she received, does she get any bonuses, and approx how much does she earn a year?0

I am not a pwc but my sister is. Also I said 'parents' not nrp or pwc. Bonuses for what? I don't know what she gets paid exactly but I think it is around 15. She has 5 Gcse's and an NVQ but as I stated I don't wish to discuss her personal life.frugallass wrote: »What I was trying to say is that not everyone involved with the CSA is a non-compliant person. I know you said parents - I still don't understand the statement in the context of the post - what were you trying to say?
So how much experience have you had in contacting / being contacted by the CSA? I don't blame you for defending your daughter, but this forum isn't the best place to expect praise and sympathy for CSA staff.
Christmas bonus? Annual bonus? any bonus really - I just wondered if she got them and why?
How do you really know what she is like at work and how she speaks to people?
Maybe she is one of those arrogant, cheeky, patronising souls that I deal with on a regular basis
I wouldn't want to do their job either - but if they don't like it they can move on and look for something else - it's their choice - maybe if they spoke to people in a more respectful manner they wouldn't get the grief back
On a lighter note, there is a site called ratemyteacher, I think one should be created called ratethecsastaff :rolleyes:0
-
Bonuses - definately NOT Christmas bonus!! Possibly an annual one (not guaranteed) but an extremely low one, and only if the whole office has reached specific targets. Now honestly there is no incentive there - a £30 bonus for working your backside off is no incentive is it? Senior management get much more than that, but AOs and EOs get up to about £300 top whack and not many of them get that much, it is mostly the lowest end of the range.0
