Yep, that was the 10% discount that was posted right after I ordered! Typical.

i looked on their website today and there seems to be very little apart from cup a soup and couscous in stock. it is not worth it for me to order anything at the moment. it is a shame.
The good times will come again! This is what leads to me over ordering- the thought that there may be a gap before they get more stuff I want...

The subs aare amongst a few of the reasons why I refuse to use this site, looking at the posts in this thread the whole site seems to be an utter shambles, no live real time stock tracking system, ridiculous substitutes that really do look like they have said oh that will do, complete lack of any kind of customer service and TBH I dont think they are cheap in any way, unless you are happy with really out of date stuff that they are just trying to unload on anyone.

I look at the site at least once a week, and on a few occassions have put stuff in my trolley but just cannot bring myself to check out, mainly because there are so many "uncertainties" which all add up to really bad management and organisation on their part until that improves and they have somkind of real time stock tracking service along with definate dates of delivery then they will not be getting any custom from me.

Just read a post earlier in this thread of someone ordering 24 bottles of water only to have them substituted with bars of soap???? Come on anyone who operates a business in such a way making such ridiculous decisions really deserves to fail.

    Rant over.................................................

It is sad really I love the idea but the site is rubbish, the shopping cart software is rubbish and by all account the CS seems rubbish too, for a business that has recenlty had some national media attention they should really be spending money on improving these things.

I received my first order today and was really pleased. I ticked no substitutions and only had one item out of stock. It was delivered within a few days. I wasn't really bothered about not having an exact delivery date but it turned up promptly anyway.
The food was well packaged and some good brands too.
The only thing I did wonder was how long after the best before date is it ok to eat stuff. Most of the stuff was in date or only just passed but something were months past the BBD. There must be a time when you can't at it any more?
Next time I think I might just but stuff in date to be sre.
    Otherwise it was fine.

I doubt anything would poison you. The worst I've had is biscuits that tasted a bit stale & damp, but a minute in the microwave made them lovely. I've got loads on the go from september to December 09 that is perfectly edible. Some orange juice looks a bit brown, but I told my husband it was that colour because it was organic and he's happy :D

... I refuse to use this site ...
In all you make pretty heavy-duty criticism of a site you have never used, nor ever intend to use. Their rating on Google Checkout reviews is 4.5 out of 5 stars! Why not give them a try with a small order and see how it goes? Just a suggestion.

Its also sad that you can critise AF while stating you have never used them ! so your comments are worthless !
So until you use them ...... keep stum !
You remind me of the people we see coming out of Aldi/Lidl etc with the shopping packed into M&S bags ! :rotfl:
As a rebuttal to your sad post ...............
Received our latest order this week , all correct and well packed !
the glass bottles were bubble wrapped for extra packing !
Well Done AF and the Staff :T:T:T

I'd like to balance the negative comments made by underpressure too. I have used AF many times, yes, there are sometimes small problems with the website, incorrect pricing and packing - but most of the time everything has been great. You have to remember the type of business this is, with fast moving stock changes, and the fact that the business has grown so rapidly, so I think there are sometimes still issues they are trying to resolve. But here is the important thing - every time I have had a problem, their customer service have resolved it promptly & efficiently.
With regard to substitutions, the site gives you 3 options - 1. no substitutions, in which case you risk only getting part of an order, 2. leave the packer to make a decision for you - this is where we can sometimes get the really strange ones, although they are usually logical - & come on, we've all had a laugh with the odd ones! or 3. you make a list of items you would be happy to have as substitutions - this takes a bit more effort, but it gives you much more control.

Got our first AF order today. Whoop! Mega amounts of fruit pots ~ cost next to nothing, and the children will love them in their lunches. Cous couz, which I love ~ over ordered though. Sweeties and lollipops for DD's Bday party ~ perfect. Crisps for after swimming. Loads of other bits, all in all I'm pleased.

Gonna have a go at Bargain Foods, they've got masses on sale. Will report back with results after delivery.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
