I usually order right up to the 28kg, as close as I can, but ocasionally if I see something I know we will use a lot of I will get the double sized 56kg delivery. I used to get 56kg once a month but I ended up with so much stuff to use up, now I am trying to just do a single box order once a month. I will only order if they have a few items I want a lot of, especially juice as my son won't drink water and goes through a lot of fruit juice. If I want to order drinks then usually it will be a 56kg order or I won't get much else with drinks being so heavy!
I got loads of black pepper crackers around christmas, I must have bought 16 boxes of them, I wish now I had bought twice as many because they were really nice and we all liked them with ham and cheese!
Unfortunately I have often found that if I order just a couple of something to try it and then find I love it and want to buy more, it's already sold out. Yes, storage is a problem, the small spare bedroom is a big advert for Approved Food! :p

This is the main problem- as to make it work and not get sick of eating the same thing over and over, you have to work on the very long term. I get really happy as I get to the end of a glut of stuff, as if I have achieved something by eating the last of the ryvitas- but it is hard to work out what will go quickly and what won't.
SO strangely, the giant butterscotch sauces, 12 for £1 have been really nice little gifts to give to my friends. On the other hand I wanted to order the little tubs of fruit but haven't because we are still knee high in the bigger plastic tubs of fruit from before Christmas. I need to make more effort to serve up tinned fruit so we can move on...:p
It is a strange way to shop and I know it is saving me loads of money, but I haven't worked it out just in case it isn't. I know we never buy cans or bottles out of the house now, which although you don't mean to do it is difficult to avoid when you have kids going to school dinners. My ds has gained some lunch credibilty with the suso drinks at school, as they are sold in school for 90p or so.

I know exactly what you mean, I bought a ton of the satay kits last year and I am down to my last three, I think we will have a party when I finally use them all up! :D
As for using up tinned fruit, I sometimes get a large flan case from the supermarket, (if you can bake then make a sponge base!) drain the fruit and arrange it in the bottom, whip up some double cream or even Dream Topping would do, and spread that on the top. My 'kids' aged 15 and 21 love this, we have done it with peaches, mixed fruit cocktail and even mandarin segments, do drain the fruit well to avoid soggy mess!
An Eton mess type thing could be done too, with layers of broken up meringue, chunks of fruit and cream or ice-cream.
You could maybe mix some butterscotch sauce with whipped cream in something too, as a filling for a victoria sponge sandwich cake, with some fruit made into a puree.
I must stop I am getting hungry!

I'm afrraid I have made another two orders in 2 days- today's was because the kids said they would eat the pineapple in juices and there is loads of lovely stuff on at the moment, imo:j.
But I think I need to spend some serious time sorting out my boxes of stuff...

I'm very tempted to order from Approved Food but I can't for the life of me work out how to request a delivery slot! any advice?
Also, what courier do the company use so I can find out where my local depot is :)
Thanks, sorry if it's a stupid question :o

I doubt you can request a slot in advance, although you can change the one you get offered if you have a mobile phone because they/someone texts you. The carrier is DPD at the moment. My delivery driver is ok, now he knows me he can leave the parcel next door or round the back or something. Unfortunately I have never been notified of my delivery day/slot since it became DPD, the driver thinks the parcel can be tracked online if AF tell me the tracking number, but they haven't... there is a facility to request time specific redelivery by dpd but it's too expensive. On the online form there is a place for delivery directions, I often write messages in that space.
It's lovely getting a parcel, they are huge and it's like a tuck box!:)

my parcel arrived this morning :) In perfect condition :) No substitutes. The chocolate shoes are so cute, it's a small box, the shoes are like xmas tree decorations size and in date so I'm going to give it as a little gift. Ordered doritos and they arrived as "mystery flavour" and twice as many, I expect dh will eat them anyway :D I will be eating nut roast every day for a month

I really want to place an order but there's only a few things I really need...bulk buying biscuits would not be a wise move!
If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!
