Hi, I know this wasn't addressed to me but as I had a recent order you might be able to use the info. Order no: 46955: I received your email to say it was due on 19th July. It arrived about lunchtime that day though I didn't hear from the courier to give a time.

Hi there,
I hope theres someone around to answer my questions!
I have only just discovered Approved Foods but i'm very impressed after having a nose around the site. I dont have the funds to do a shop until next week so i havent looked into how you pay...i've read posts on here about using paypal,is that the only way? Can you charge to a card?
Also i see delivery charges are according to the weight of your order...28kg smallest-is that right?? In my head this is a large amount of food am i right?? im useless about weights etc etc and i'd like to get my £5.25's worth by stocking up.
Sorry if these are silly questions.I have tried to read through the thread but its extremely long!!
Thanks in advanceEmergency Savings #73 = £1,500/£2,000

I think payment is by Paypal or Google - someone correct me if I'm wrong.
28kg is lots, but you don't have to go up to that amount, just pay as if you were. (For instance if you only bought crisps it would take rathe a lot to make the weight!)
Remember that a lot of the food is tinned, which is heavy (about 56 ordinary tins to 28kg if my maths is right) - and if you feel you are wasting capacity you could add some juice or squash as these are heavier than dry goods.
I bought 3 of the 2kg sauces - once opened, extra sauce can be frozen. This way the weight soon adds up.Miggy

Thanks Miggy,
Thats really helped me.Reguarding the weight part,my friend and i were gonna order together and split the delivery cost so wanted to check it would be worth doing so,sounds like we'd both get plenty for our money!
Anyone tried Food Bargains? Same amount of 'food' for a slightly cheaper delivery price,i was gonna use these guys to stock up on toilet paper and cleaning goods...i spy they sell Stardrops!!
Im sure Approved foods sell bits like this too its just a matter of whether they have it in stock im guessing!Emergency Savings #73 = £1,500/£2,000

I had a reply to my email this morning: they've offered me a generous discount on my next order, certainly enough to tempt me back. Must resist until I have cupboard space!
Does anyone know what the Schwartz apple sauce is like, flavour-wise, please?
It's kind of like the inside of a Mr Kippling's apple pie - bits of apple in goo! OK, but not a patch on homemade.0 -

Thanks, I was wondering about it as a filler for blackberry crumble and it sounds as though it might work possibly with some added sugar. Commercial apple pies never taste like proper apple, do they?! I think the cheapy ones are mostly sugar!
I haven't tried Food Bargains (goes off to Google!) but I might!
Oops, sorry, going off topic here.Miggy
