Hi everyone, great excitment and a little hilarity - my first order has arrived!
It came with a 2-sheet print-out of the invoice. First sheet all well, exactly as ordered, except they forgot or ran out of shower cleaner. No note of substitutes (I only listed one and it wasn't used) and no refunds or owt like that.
Second page - not a single item as ordered! Good job there were only 5 items on the page.
I've tried to ring the firm, no reply. Can't find anything on the website to tell me what to do about the assorted unwanted items - which are worth more than I paid by about £6 which sounds like a nice problem except I have no use for a lot of them. Really! They have also doubled on two lots of 'treats' - and nice through that is, we don't need the calories.
Any clues what I do please?
Email them. They will get back to you eventually.0 -

I used to use Approved Foods until about a month ago, their customer service has become appalling, they never reply to emails or phone calls, their forum is full of disgruntled customers who aren't even getting replies to queries about their order or products on the forum any more.
They seem to be messing up orders all over the place, you used to get the occasional substitution, now you can end up with half your order substituted or missing and it is like pulling teeth getting refunded for missing products.0 -
I had a reply to my email this morning: they've offered me a generous discount on my next order, certainly enough to tempt me back. Must resist until I have cupboard space!
Does anyone know what the Schwartz apple sauce is like, flavour-wise, please?Miggy

Well just had our first delivery this afternoon and have to say I am mightily impressed and so is my better half
A huge box arrived, everything was then packaged into 4 seperate boxes inside the huge box, on the checkout page when placing the order I ticked accept NO substitutions and to my surprise after reading other threads there was nothing at all that I had not ordered, literally everyhting present and correct and really well packaged, the only thing that suffered was a popped bag of grab a bag walkers crisp, I can live with that
Got loads of really good stuff very pleased, the fabulous bakin noys cupcakes are ace, we buy these anyhow from Mr T's but to get a case of 30 for a quid unbelievable and all still in date as well.
Have the "bug" now lol me and my better half are going to sit down tonight and place another order, she wants to have some input this time though lol larder is full of cakes and choccy...................."You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -

The inconvenience for me is just having to check it at all- but when I compare that to shopping elsewhere and consider the money I have saved I realise how easy it is.0 -

Hi Argamemnon, Sorry about that. There have been just a few glitches in the case of customers paying by Paypal not receiving the "automatic" email and we are working on it. If you contact the guys in the office (phone, Skype or mail) they will soon sort it.“Official Company Representative

After almost ordering a few times, I placed my first order on thursday lunchtime. It arrived Monday lunchtime (love the tracking system).
Very, very happy.
48 bags of Marmite crisps for 5p each (BB Saturday) - shared out amongst my colleagues at work
30 fingers of fudge
3 2kg bottles of Loyd Grossman sauces - 2 with 2011 date
6 jars of Sharwoods Curry Paste
lots of savoury rice (all in date) and couscous
Bendicks Bittermints (my hubbie's favourite - he never noticed they were a month past their BB date)
Only substitute was Emma Noel Miel Soap - orange was swapped for lavender. As my mum will prefer that, it's ended up a really good swap. Everything was intact and well packed.
I'm certainly going to use them again - I can't believe that the delivery charge is only £5.25 for the weight of that box. I've paid £4.95 P&P for very small items!¿Alguien ha visto a mi nave espacial?
Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.0 -

I have to agree with this, for the amount of stuff the delivery charge is excellent, we are all so used to getting riipped off on flebay with delivery charges it does make a nice chage to get what I consider bargain p+p
It is also nice to see a rep is posting on the fourm as well
I get the impression from reading various things about this company that they have experienced mass success very quickly, this is a nightmare ( a good nightmare granted ) situation for any comany to experience, I am sure things wil settle down. As a consumer we demand a certain level of customer service no matter who we buy from, wether it be Harrods or a bargain basement site such as this, for a company that has overnight virtually exploded its a difficult thing to be consistent with, I am sure they will find their feet given time.
After all my negative comments in the past it is ironic that when I actually place my first order I have such a positive experience, I appreciate others have not had such a great experience recently as said I am sure this will pass in time.
I still say they should be using more intelligent shopping cart software that updates out of stock items on the fly but again this is all down to development Im sure it will come in time
