Actually a very good thread this. If you take out all the house price stuff. It flows along quite nicely.

Let's face it we all know where prices are going anyway. I know they are going down, and Hamish knows they are going up, and everyone else knows what they know.

Thank goodness I logged in. Had a meeting with an IFA later to organise first mortgage - 6 times borrowings - 200k for a one bed flat, or as my mate unkindly calls it - a sh1thole. Now if that's going to drop 50% or nearly 73k, I am going to put my life on hold for at least a year. I mean, I know women don't go out with renters, but I'd rather self abuse for (another) year than lose 73k.
to be fair you would have been in the money and not lost £73k - how's the self abuse and the lack of women going?

Anyway....... What's with all the thread/post necromancing you've been doing lately chucky?

Life a bit boring now that the crash is over?

that's quite true - but people will look at you in a year or two's time and think how short-sighted you are and wonder where you've got to...

Or maybe even a lot sooner that (refering to OP geoffky)

In fact, all of my long term predictions have been on the pessimistic side of what has subsequently happened.

But I've also been amongst the first to point out more positive news, and speculate it would have an impact.

    As indeed, it did.....

So did you take advantage of your excellent prediction and went to buy lots of houses? You should have made lots of easy money by now.
