re-wiring whole house - how much ??

am moving into a 3 bed terrace in Fife and was wondering what a reasonable price would be to get the whole place rewired.

And if anyone knows anyone good and fairly priced in the fife area I'd appreciate it.

try and find a sparkey who will do it at the weekend for cash most will do this. if you do it should be somewhere in the region of £1000-£1500 depending on what you want.
  • Can't see anyone doing it for cash anymore. A full rewire would come under part p which means it "can't be done on the side"!

I thought part P only applied in England and Wales and unless I am mistaken Fife is in Scotland
  • Sorry i didn't know that!

The big advantage in Scotland and NI will be that the new colour scheme is already in use so nobody will be able to tell when the work was done, unlike England and Wales where if its in Brown and Blue you need a cert.

if they let you ,offer to do the dirty work yourself to lower costs, like chasing out walls finishing off plastering or what ever they dont realy want to do themselfs. it can often take hours of labour charges just to do the donkey work, might as well do it yourself for free.

I am paying £4000 for a full house rewire in London inc moving all furniture & replastering for a 3 bed terraced inc new electrics in the loft. They say it will take 4 weeks. How do others get it done so quickly?!

The quote I got was excellent compared to the other 3 who gave me quotes. This was a reocmmendation from someone. The others who quoted me were from the local paper.
