It makes a great salad dressing, either as it is or thinned down with a bit of olive oil.

I do that too when I get to the end of the jar. Add about a tablespoon of vinegar, pinch salt/pepper/sugar, few tablespoons of oil, put the lid back on (!) and shake.

Some great ideas! I may well go with the soup or the mash - although if I had salad left in the house that is a splendid idea too!

I spread it on pieces of chicken then wrap them in bacon and bake in oven and call it dinner party chicken.

I really enjoyed using up my shop bought pesto in a dip yesterday. However, rather than rely on shop bought versions, does anyone have a recipe for pesto please .... this way I'll have more left overs and having read the messages above ... lots of different ways to use it ;)

I'm sure there are a lot of MSE's who, like me, were drooling over the ideas posted here yesterday .... I nearly ran out and bought another jar!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

That's the problem with this place - so many terrific recipes that I change my mind about what to have for dinner a minimum of twenty five times a day :)

There's no precise measurements with this as you make it to taste but as a guide I use ... (stolen originally from a Jamie O recipe)

    clove garlic
couple of good handfuls fresh basil
a handful pine nuts, lightly roasted in a pan or under grill
    a handful of grated parmesan
couple of slugs of extra virgin olive oil
    salt n pepper
    dash of lemon juice

I just bash up the garlic, basil and nuts in my pestle and mortar ... use saucepan and rolling pin end if you don't have one or food processor I s'pose ... and add enough olive oil to make a sloppy paste, then add parmesan, seasonings and lemon juice to taste :)

    Heh, me too LOL!

I'm currently trying to decide what recipe to use for some chicken legs in the slow cooker. I want to do the Caribbean chicken but little'un aint keen on pineapple (yet he'll eat sweet n sour!) but I have a fresh one that needs using up very soon

Gonna go look at the recipe index shortly :)

You could try adapting this one that I made yeaterday...

    Chilli and ginger chicken

Edit: I've moved the recipe to the Slow Cooker Recipe thread and you can find it here

You are an absolute star!!!! kiss5ou.gif

I've got a tin of Campbells tomato soup I was wondering what to use with ;) ... I've also got fresh ginger and chilli plus white wine vinegar so can't see why they can't be used separately if it's all going to be whizzed anyway

I'll be in the kitchen if you need me :D

    Thank you chuckle.gif

Now stop chattering and let me copy that recipe into the slow cooker thread where it really belongs and then just change the post in here to a link to there so I don't have two copies of the same post. Which is something frowned on by us junior apprentice assistant board guides.
