Where are you getting the vw tea lights from
I have a little vw business (t-shirts, gifts, cards, wedding stationery lol etc) so I have a few wholesale accounts, and they are coming from one of those companies....wholesale they work out to £1.70 each
I plan to take them out the boxes, then put some cellophane around them ties at the top with ribbon and a tag on each with the guests name and the date of the wedding and something like Ria and Marcs Wedding
Yellowbug, I have a few VW egg cup holders which I love - I buy a new one every year we go to Cornwall. I bet the tealight holders are fab do you have a pic.
Oh we have so much vw stuff its madness lol, we now have i think 4 camper egg cups and 4 beetle ones lol
we also have salt and pepper in the shape of our old van, and matching mugs and toast rack
will try and find a pic to show you the tea light holdersmshelsbels wrote: »I'm having little ivory paper bags for all of my guests (50) with ;- a mini bar of chocolate with our pics on it (we photocopied a lovely pic of us pulling faces, cut to size and used it as a wrapper.) 20p each ish?
- a little card with a funny wedding custom/wedding triv on it (I have these ready to print if anyone wants a copy, they're great!)
- a miniture perfume for the ladies, (Ghost, Anais Anais etc) from sale at Boots at Christmas, about 80p each?
- and a metal puzzle for the men (from Ebay), about 20p each with the words 'love is like a puzzle….when two pieces fit together its perfect' attached!

erm...what are love spoons?
Lol - Its a Welsh thing. They have these traditional wooden spoons all carved into celtic designs and so forth. Ornamental rather than practical - and they're called love spoons. I'm not actually Welsh - but I grew up in Wales and my Mum feels the need to recognise that in the wedding! It was either the love spoons or welsh cakes - and I don't like currants0 -
aaaahhhh i see, i know what you mean now..had no idea they were called love spoons
they sound very nice...but also sound pricey lolMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
My wife to be came up with the idea of giving the ladies sprigs of lavender. Each grown in individual pots which look like little silver buckets. We've had the help of a local garden centre. They work out at £1 each. For the men we've got miniture bottles of Jack Daniels £1.40 each from Just Minitures.Mark0

love spoons are really romantic
your chap is sposed to carve one for you and each different carved item means something else. I think for a wedding you'd need twin bells??
I'm gonna make cupcakes I just bought the boxes off of ebay and I'm gonna put a cupcake in each one, mebbe put a wedding verse in the top <I'm interested in the wedding trivia btw
>
Ice the cup cakes in differnt colours then put one of those "just married" love hearts on the top of each one.
The boxes are plain white so I'm gonna tie a bow round them in navy ribbon to reflect my colour scheme
Hope to make the cakes the month before and freeze them all
less hassle on the day then

I'm getting married May nex tyear and really struggling with ideas for favours. My husband to be isn't really interested in spending on money on them but I really like the thought that goes into them.
I love the idea of giving flower seeds (although I'm not sure what the guests will think of this?!). How are you doing yours Rinroo? Because the ones you buy from wedding suppliers are really expensive!!0 -
I think seeds can be a lovely thing to give as favours
Im sure you can buy seeds from a garden centre (or similar) at a decent price that you can then split up between your guests
Then I have seen a few things online that you can download to print at home to make into your own little personalised seed packets
