Well done Kat! I've never heard of a pallet of books!
I was at a carboot on Sun. but all thenon-fiction books were huge, as in very big! and priced at £2 or more! One man was selling some Blue Peter annuals! I couldn't afford them although they would have been a very good buy. There was probably some good stuff around earlier tho. At the car boots round here the dealers are out in force by 6.30am (sale opens at 7am in one place and 8am in another. You have to be there at 5.30 to get a selling space!
In charity shops I only look on their sale shelves. Picked up a few decent buys from them for 29p.Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0 -

I've noticed something else odd when browsing for certain books..this came up:
Brand new printed-on-demand paperback delivered in the UK in 5-7 days
Brand New. Printed for you and delivered from the UK
Brand new & printed specifically for your order. Despatch is usually 4 working days and shipped from the UK.
THis isn't an ebook or anything, it is a real book, so I don't understand?

I did wonder if it was a 'vanity' published book (I think that is the correct term) but this is a legit book that can be bought from a book shop, which was why I was mystified. However your Google search would appear to be an explanation, thank you George2.

Hm. Some comments and a question.
I went away for Easter and when I left on Thursday night I put my books on 'vacation hold'. What I didn't count on was that it can take Amazon up to 36 hrs to suspend your listings. One of my books sold Thursday night! I was overseas so I had to send today instead of Saturday. I emailed the buyer but didn't get a reply. So for those going on holiday take note to do it a bit in advance. I also tried relisting about 10am this morning and they aren't back up yet.
The second thing is that I listed a hardcover book too cheaply, and more than half of what I got from Amazon went on postage. Mine was the best condition and I matched to lowest price which was only 'average'. Also mine was a hardback whereas I had to list it against the paperback version. I know it's been said before but WEIGH your books before you calculate price!
Good news: over Easter I got my first feedback! 5 stars!
More good news: For those who don't check out the Freebies board, get over there and look at the Pigsback thread, particularly with regards to Reporo. I got the 10th anniversary Pride and Prejudice for 50p (no postage), listed on Amazon matching the lowest 'New' price and now have about £5 in profit! There is also a thread on a free £20 voucher from DVD.co.uk, but as I haven't received the voucher yet I can't report a success. Worth trying though.
Now for the question: I am Australian in London and we don't have car boot sales back home, so I have no idea how to go about finding them. Where do they advertise? When are they held? Do they ever happen in London? I'd like to take a look but have no idea how to locate one. Please help.'Everyone loves to read but it can be a real nuisance when you lose your place. Here's a solution. When you finish reading a page, just tear it out. You'll save money on bookmarks too!' -- Amanda's Handy Hints, Amanda Keller. :cool:0 -
