I agree with AT, non fiction is for me. I am sitting here at the moment listing books for my son and have a 'discard ' pile of fiction books about 30 high where the lowest price would make me a loss due to the postage. So far from all these fiction books I only have 4 listed and all those are 50p-£1 only.

I'm quite determined now to do a car boot sale with all these books that are not worth listing on Amazon, plus all my failed ebay items from the past few years.

Has the buyer left you feedback yet? They may not be too happy to find you listed a paperback under a hardback listing which is a breach of Amazons rules and the paperback is listed elsewhere:

No buyer hasn't left feedback yet BUT I did email Amazon to ask about this before hand as although they is a paperback linked to the hardback version of this it is a totally different book. The paperback book you put a link to was "What Families Were Like Second World War" whereas the book I sold was "Family Life In The Second World War."
They said as long as I made it clear in my listing that it was a paperback then I was ok, I put it capital letters at the beginning of the listing so it was very obvious.

I'm listing stuff at the moment and I have a paperback book that already has 5 other copies listed. The ISBN comes up with a hardback edition, but two of the other sellers say 'paperback item NEVER available in hardback'. which leaves me with a dilemna.

  • Soo,

Email Amazon, they will help you I'm sure as they helped me with the book above.

  • How many people leave feedback on Amazon? I have sold 8 items in total but only one person has left feedback.

Only a very small proportion bother to leave feedback at all. I don't think having a low feedback rating or score affects sales to a great degree though, so I don't worry about it too much.

Typical - I remembered to set my Amazon account to vacation settings as I'm going away for a few days.

I've never sold anything on Green Metropolis before but...yes... sold my first book today! It means I'm going to be looking for a Post Office on my holidays! :D The good news is that I now know that GM books do sell eventually and this was a chick lit novel that wasn't worth listing on Amazon so I've made more money this way. :)

I'm bored and am ploughing through the discussions on the Amazon sellers board. Most of which seem to be discussing setting up shops on Ebay as being the way to go at the moment with sales increasing on ebay whilst they fall on Amazon.

AS well as that there are some fascinating discussions, don't know why I haven't looked there before, it is better than the TV!

Actually, I am supposed to be rechecking my prices as I haven't had a sale in 2 weeks, but I got waylaid. (I'm easily distracted!)

I was planning on scanning a few more books ready for turbolister to upload on Tuesday, and haven't even got the books out of storage yet <sigh>
