  • No not a typo it was about the 2nd world war. I've listed it somewhere in this thread if you have a look back.

Has the buyer left you feedback yet? They may not be too happy to find you listed a paperback under a hardback listing which is a breach of Amazons rules and the paperback is listed elsewhere:

if not a typo then... well done, nice one.

I've listed a softback in a hardback listing 'cos they don't have the softback - but I've pointed out very clearly that it is the softback.

No, its a breach of Amazons rules to list anything under a wrong listing and if the buyer made an A-z claim against you then Amazon would always find in the buyers favour.

Also, many many buyers never read the description so would be very surprised when a paperback arrived rather than a hardback. They expect to receive what the original Amazon listing shows.

I'll take mine off then. Don't want to break rules, this is a very good source of funds.
But, on a related issue, has anyone any idea what to do with a book that is not listed?
I have a fair few collectable books from the 1930s - they must be collectable because I used to collect them! - and can't find a way of selling them via Amazon.
  • frankie - have you considered ebay for the non amazon books?

I know that I had a real rant on Sunday about the difference between listing a book on amazon (= dead easy) as opposed to listing a book on ebay (= pain in the bum) but if you've no choice then it's worth the 6 or 7 minutes work to get it listed. Either that or take them to an auction house and have them put in a specific collectors sale rather than a general sale

Sometimes it can be good if a pending does not go through. Recently I had a book which I should have priced higher and just hung on, (not thinking straight at the time) - it became a pending and I was praying it would not go through.

Of course it did and buyer got it for a £1.00 - my fault but

I was hoping to avoid ebay, I'm like you now, used it for years but Amazon is so much simpler.
Still I guess I'll have to bite the bullet - I have a load of other ebay stuff I've been putting off. That's my afternoon done for.
  • I am going to have a look around a few car bootsthis weekend and was just wondeirng what type of books should I be looking for. Can anyone help - is non fiction better than fiction?
    Thanks
