Hypno I feel for you ont he car front. Mine has just cost £300 Mot and repairs, £550 insurance and £33 breakdown cover. Plus we had to buy a new dishwasher end of last month...oh and tax is due at the end of the month. Never rains it pours and all that! Oh and the Broadband increase is shameful! We arent in the sticks but BT does not operate in our area and nor does mobile broadband grrr so we are stuck with one phone and broadband provider who can and do charge what they like. After all that we really shouldnt be spending anything, but a break from life is needed so are off to see harry potter now! Hope you get the student money in tomorrows post!0

Talking of blazers - we got a letter home from school stating that from September we have to buy specific school clothing with logos etc from just one provider, who of course is not cheap.
Really narked about that because up til now we have been able to buy plain navy sweatshirts etc which we can buy from M&S or Tesco or whatever. The children can look smart enough without needing a logo for an extra £15 an item!!
Also, I wish they had told us earlier in the school year - to leave it til the last week of term is not very helpful really is it!!!
Just one of those weeks :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Bad luck about the car and the school uniform issues - nothing ever comes singly, does it? The same law of sod got me a couple of weeks ago when what felt like a large rock hit my windscreen (didn't see it, but it left a good sized dent) and I had to fork out £60 for a new windscreen (covered by insurance so only paid the excess). And all this in the same month when there are birthdays to shell out for, the car tax, the breakdown insurance..... I'm just not meant to have money. Still, the chickypoodles are laying eggs every day so saving me money on supermarket eggs, and there are some promising looking veggies coming along nicely in the garden - that's if the feathered bustards don't get at them first! One life - your life - live it!0

You are having a run of it recently!!!....can empathise with you on juggling everything about...I've got tax bills, car bills etc coming out of my ears in the next fortnight.
Hope you get your cheque shortly.DD had to order DGS uniform (including school coat from school)...it's so much dearer with a logo on.0 -
*smug warning*
My £20 is not only intact, but now = £20.02 :rotfl::rotfl:
I've found in coins 42p so far this week. (They're affluent and careless in our office block, there's often coins left in the vending machine, and DD left coins in her car -the fool) Rehearsals cost 20p coffee money so this week I'm up 2p :rotfl:
 grrr to car servicing though. I did two this week = £550 and I've been told to get FOUR new tyres too :eek:0 -
Morning - sorry to hear about the car, but look on the bright side - it won;t need doing for another 11 months!
DS and DH left for work at 6, which is why I am up so early. Still trying to decide whether to go swimming before work. Went yesterday afternoon to the over 50's session :rotfl: which is right before I teach, so looked like a drowned rat for first lesson as got out as kids were arriving on poolside :rotfl:.
Anyway, all banking checked, DS friends chq has bounced again.
Quite agree on reasons we are all so "down".
Off to hang washing out and let chickens out.
Have a good day - Oh - not spent anything from £20 either!0
