  • Here in this section Hypno is a charity... Now I know it's robbing people to pay debt but could you technically get that self help website a small debt section to help people take control of their finances then get this web site to help fund it whilst you rake in the profits?

You know seeing as you help us gain an insight into how the hardcore debt paying off should be...

Also, I do remember my A-Levels coming out. I had already prepared myself for doing worse than I expected (left too much to the last minute and also royally carped up the old coursework!), I think it's the parents are more worried at this time than the kids are. I knew what to do but my results didn't come out till like 2pm.

By then, I lost the good clearing places at the London-based uni's. Thankfully I found Kent and never knew why I didn't choose this in the first place, so there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Word of advice: First thing you do with the kids is get the Guardian for the clearing lists. And make sure they have it there just in case they don't do as well so you can then get the kid focussed enough to think about the next step.

Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!

How do you amass £70k in a year?!

Finally got round to checking how many accounts I have! Had to check my savings account spreadsheet as I struggle to keep track :rotfl:

    1 current acount
    1 ISA
    3 Regular savers
2 savings linked to regular savers
10 savings accounts with 4 only having bare minimum cause I can't close them

17 in total - better than I thought but maybe opening Egg soon ;)

    17?!

    I have:

    1 Nationwide
2 Barclays (Of Which you can nickname them so I called One Bill and one Ben! :D)
    2 Alliance and Leicester!

If I want to save for things, I make a list, prioritise and then sift it out of Ben!

Suddenly thought do I also have to count my premium bonds?!

I have my house deposit in several accounts as I very nearly had my fingers burnt in the whole Icelandic bank collapse

Was just about to go to bed (am very tired) and suddenly realised I had not input my mystery shops for today - so had to dig deep into the fuzziness that is my brain and write readable comments about queueing times........

Walshy - nice idea......but somehow I don't think it would work :rotfl:

Morning all, these hot muggy nights are not good for those of us that need our sleep

10p only on the scratches, and nothing unexpected in the banking today. OH got paid from his second job but his shifts have dried right up so only a small paypacket - September's will be non-existant because there has been no work available for him this month at all. Hence my reason for trying to make the SOA work based on "basic income" only......it looks like that is going to have to become a reality in the not too distant future.

I get paid tomorrow, so I can see the full picture then, as I too will only be on "basic" pay, as summer business is always quiet (although bizarrely we seem busier than ever!).

I am very glad I hit the debtbusting so hard over the last couple of years - It means we have a chance of getting through, even if the DFD is extended by a couple of months if we are only making minimums for a bit. If we were living with the "old" levels of debt, it would be nigh on impossible!

Good luck to any exam Parents today! I hope you get the results you/your children are looking for!
