Have had a very productive day today starting with clearing out the large walk in cupboard in the hall which was at the point of just standing at the door and throwing things in.....yes it was badly in need of a tidy
So two loads to the dump and lots of sorting later, it now looks great and we "found" lots of things that were "lost"
Also managed to free up some small baskets which may be of use for hampers at a later date.
Finished the day by making a batch of Nigella's chilli jam which I have been dying to try since I got the book last Christmas. Just put it into 6 small Ikea jars and I must say it looks lovely, hope it tastes good too. (Did obviously have a taste and think it will be OK once it matures a bit, certainly has a bit of bite to it).
The jam should be a nice addition to the foodie hampers I have planned for my two sons.0 -

I've been there! I went when I was a child but there's adult entertainment in the evenings. You'll have a fab time, there's loads of swimming pools, crazy golf, entertainment, can't remember what else.0 -
Kalojac - I love your bag full of space goodies, what a lovely idea.
Scattymam - your present is just stunning, well done.
My boyfriend and I spent today cleaning and tidying which afterwards felt really satisfying.
I also went through my latest present buys and have written everything down and how much things cost, ready to update my spreadsheet.
A good day's work!0 -
Update about the Italy school trip, well its off already. The little so and so has lost her new mobile phone after having it for just a week. Honestly I have never known a girl like it for losing things. First she lost her plate for her teeth a few weeks ago (which cost us £60 to replace) then a couple of days later lost her old phone so OH lent her his old phone which she lost the same day, then she found her old phone and has been using that but it doesnt work properly so we bought her a new up to date one for her birthday (OH paid nearly £100 for it) and now its gone. She also lost some of her birthday money last week on the way up the town to buy herself something with it. What on earth are we going to do with her??? Who'd have teenagers!!!0

Well Just when I thought I had the all clear to go out today, DS2 came down with really bad flu symptoms yesterday so called the new pandemic line to be told he had swine flu too and needed the Tamiflu.
Had a real job of getting the tablets for him yesterday as the ref code they gave me to go collect them was for the wrong dosage (they had him as being 15 and he's 5) and they wouldn't give me another code, so had to go see the out of hours doctor to get the right dose  all in all took 4 hours from start to finish, what a polava, and I wasn't the only one who had been perscribed the wrong dose, when I got diagnosed last week by the doctor it took an hour from the call to getting the tablets, so much for this pandemic line making everyones life easier:rolleyes:.
And now have the task of trying to get my 5 year old to have a tablet, he couldn't swollow it so have been mixing it in his yogart this morning and icecream tonight, he says that they taste like washing powder.
Not even thought about Xmas today.:D:D:D:D
