Found the Christmas chutney recipe for anyone who wants it. Thanks to OP "Meadows" for this:Christmas chutney
Makes 1.8kg/4lb
Preparation time 30 mins to 1 hour
Cooking time 30 mins to 1 hour
A simple, tasty chutney ideal for having with left-over turkey or cold meats during Christmas.
Ingredients
450g/1lb onions, peeled and chopped
5 tbsp water
900g/2lb cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
700g/1½ pears, peeled, cored and chopped
85g/3oz dates, stoned and chopped
570ml/1 pint cider vinegar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp cayenne pepper
225g/8oz sugar
Method
1. Put the onions and the water in a large heavy-based pan. Bring to the boil and simmer until soft.
2. Add the apples and pears and continue cooking gently for 15-20 minutes. Add the dates, salt, spices and half the vinegar. Cook, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens.
3. Add the sugar and the rest of the vinegar, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Continue to simmer until the chutney becomes really thick. Stir occasionally.
4. When ready, pot and seal in sterilised jars and leave to mature for a week or longer.
Yum Yum
" Keeps for years, I made this two years ago and still have some left, opened a new jar only the other day and it's as good if not better than ever (I quite often forget it's there). Hi rik1978 and welcome to the thread
I have been doing christmas cleaning today. I've cleared out my wardrobe of clothes, shoes, bags I've not worn in ages and there off to the charity shop. Also been busy cleaning in the kitchen I've cleaned and organised 4 cupboards 4 draws and a stack of shelves. I ended up making 3 trips to the tip and threw out between 15-20 bags!!!! didnt know where all the cr*p came from!!!!!!
Must be soemthing in the air lol I did my wardrobe yesterday (it was starting to smell mouldy!)
At the bottom (and explaing the smell) was a lovely bright red pair of court shoes - that had gone soooo mouldy I had to throw them out
Along with some "green" bras and socks  oopsJune Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Haha I had to bin a few of the shoes. one pair in particular I wore all the time but the other day I was out when it was raining and they got soaked through, I left them to dry on the radiator but they reeked when they were dry so they went straight in the bin. Speaking of bra's I got remeasured the other week and I have gone from a 32d to a 32e:eek: having to buy loads of new bras and undies now cos I cant wear a bra with out the matching or same coloured undies if its a plain bra0 -

You should list your old worn shoes on EBay. I read on another thread on here that worn old shoes go for a lot of money. _pale_ Men who have a foot fetish lurve them! :lipsrseal

3_cheeky_princesses wrote: »How far beforehand can i make the chutney and store it for Christmas?
Thank you all.
I would say a minimum of 4 weeks before you want to eat it in order for it to mature. Any longer is a bonus as it will be nice and mature and ready if you make it now and it lasts until next year!
I made some last autumn which has kept my mum in chutney since then and it is perfectly tasty.
Don't worry about making it now - the longer the better!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

I planned to sell the flip flops I wore all through my pregnancy on ebay - they were so horrendously stinky that I was convinced I'd make a fortune. In the end I had to be whisked off to theatre and the shoes were left behind and never seen again - I bet someone else made a fortune off them :rotfl:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

i am a woman with size 9/10 feet and all my old shoes go on ebay, they sell quite well often more than i have paid for them. i must have sold about 50 pairs since i started ebaying and every single pair of them have been sent to men!
i think in my case they are going to crossdressers! if you search for shoes inthis size the titles nearly always say LADIES/MENS/TV so anyone who comes across bigger shoes cheap buy them and stick them on ebay - you'll make some men/women/shim's very happy!0
