Hello all hope everyone is well. {{{hugs}}} to Shevs and Sarahf, sorry you both seem to have had some bad times recently. Normally I am mostly a lurker but just wanted to send hugs. I know I never post but totally count you all as lovely support and very friendly people.
Am doing OK for me so far - not as organised as most of you, but I am on a learning curve!! Quite a few bits for the children bought, but now I need to sit down and see what I have got for them so I don't end up duplicating or going overboard. Nothing got for anyone else, but I have been building up vouchers/money through ipoints/bingoport etc etc so I think that will help. Have my niece's Christening coming up and then one more birthday, then that's it till Christmas so hopefully will start getting stuff then. Just thought, that's proabbly really really late for most of you! I have the feeling I will be with this thread from the beginning next year though and that will be much better!
Also I have been quite frustrated lately as wanting to do Christmas stuff but a couple of other big projects on the go - doing a few bits to the house, and also I am applying for teacher training so trying to focus on that to get the application really good - I so want to get it!!!
Well looks like this is a long post making up for lost time. Hope you all have a good day today -it's Friday!!!!0 -
Its a very basic run down
www.dooyoo.co.uk
On the top line towars the right of the screen is blue writing - you need to click the word that says register
This brings up a new page - where you fill in your details, user name, your name, etc, takes 2 mins at most, then your registered.
Can't remember if they send u a link yo ur email address.
Once registered - you then go back to
www.dooyoo.co.uk
the sign in - user name and password.
To start writing a review
Pick things like DVDs, or Books something you know and explain about the product.
There is a serach box that you can put a word otr few in and it takes you to the nearest or you can search through the items.
(do quick sample for Carry On Nurse DVD everything is purple - general explanation as to why / put it in)
(My Review)
Carry On Nurse - The title of DVD
Main Cast - There are more in the film, but just concentrated onn the maon charatcers,to give an overwiew
Kenneth Connor -Bernie Bishop
Charles Hawtrey - Humphrey Hinton
Harrie Jacques - Matron
Joan Sims - Nurse Stella Dawson
Kenneth Williams - Olivewr Reckitt
Rating PG - Gives an idea to the reader that its a family film
Film
This is one of the early Carry On Films, being the film is in black and white (given quick intro by mentioning black and white, its showed I've taken notie of waht I've watched to be able to review honestly) but don't let that distract you from the film.
When Ted York (Terence Longdon) have put the stars names as he doesn't appear in the main casting), is admitted to hospita with appendicitis, he doesn't know what he's letting himself in for.
The nurses are naughty but nice, espically saucy staff nurse Dorothy Denton (Shirley Eaton), and Matron is menaciny. You certainly wouldn't want to cross Matron, (I've addded a bit of a joke, ) as this was filmed in the days when Matron runs the wards and her word was law.
The patients meanwhile, get tired of waiting and take matters into their own hands, that part of the film was absolutely brilliant, I had tears running down my face, (i've emphasied a plot within the film, but not given the storyline away, but also brought a personal element to the film, by showing an emotion which then people would think I wonder what that is?)
As for Matron, she certainly finds a novel use for a daffodil! (teased in another plot line, but again not given the plot of the story away).
would then check that the wording is a minimum of 150 words, dont worry there is a little on screen device that counts it for you.
You then fill in the last part -
Title - Carry On Nurse - beware daffodils bite back (Given my review a title - always include the product and an extra comment if you want to).
Advantages - A great early film from the Carry On Collection (whats an advantage to the product)
Disadvantages - Does not relate to modern day hospitals (is there something ypou found you didn't like)
Summary - A great film introducing us to the Carry On Team (just a one line summary).
Press submit, the next screen comes as a preview of the post, you then accept and it goes live.
For every review you write, you get 500 dooyoo miles (equals 50p), the review must be over 150 words. Each time it gets read you get 15 dooyoo miles ( 1 1/2p)
When you have 20,000 Dooyoo miles you can cash out for a Amazon voucher or if you want to wait for cash you have to build up to 50,000 dooyoo miles £50, and that comes by cheque.
Cirlce of friends - basicaly there people who you trust, and you can click to add them as firiends, you can set the settings on dooyoo that if they write a review your be notified.
Personally- for every review I write, I review 10 reviews, as I want people to read my reviews
Writing the reviews, i find it easier to write the review in Word, then spell check, check the min 150 words, I personally aim for 200+ each time, and then copy and paste across.
It may sound daft but once you have wrote 5 reviews you soon getthe hang of it, I woukd say also read other peopls reviews as it givs you an idea of the way they write, and if you come across a "crowned" review it means thats an exceptional review.
Circle of friends - one suggestion is put ur user name on here, and we will add you to our circle of friends, then once we review your listing, you can go in to see whos reviewed and you can click to add us to circle of friends.
MY username is Mum2onlyone
If anyine wants to have a look at any of my reviews to give you an idea, help yourself, (there not brilliant, but it gives an idea)
xx

Have just been on Ebay looking for inspiration to make my daughter some more bits for Xmas and have bought an iron on transfer of her fave Twilight person. I am hoping to iron it onto a piece of plain white cotton fabric and use some of my left overs from the quilt I'm making to make her a Twilight cushion out of patchworks.
If the transfer comes out ok I might get a white t-shirt and do one of those for her although not sure how these iron on transfers take to washing.
Have found a keyring too which she got free at some day out and it just has some company's logo in it so hoping I can get it apart and put a photo in that too.0 -
rufus - not sure if you've seen it but play.com is meant to have a sale on and there's loads of Twilight bits on there i love this: (a bit pricey but i still love it)
