Thank you to everyone for the fantastic ideas for my niece's baking hamper, you're all stars!
I'm hoping to go shopping at the weekend so I can get lots of things you've all suggested. I think I might get a little apron and then cross stitch her name on the front of it. If I have time I might do the same with a teatowel
Thanks also for the wonderful suggestion of printing out recipes, I would never have thought of that! Such a good idea as I can make sure the recipes are easy enough for her to follow and, most importantly, look fun! I'm going to start looking for some tonight.
Also, thanks for the suggestions for gold wrapped sweets, I can't believe I didn't think of Werthers, I love those!Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Sounds like a familiar situation! Don't envy you the overlap, but 2 weeks isn't too bad. Good Luck with it all, I'm sure you'll do really well.:):)Hi
I'm doing B201 Business and Environments, my brain has froze with global enterprisation, got my last TMA to be in by 6th Oct, running 2 weeks behind:eek:, but luckly bar docs appointment, I'm locked in the bedroom studying!! My next course B203 starts Oct as well, got 2 week overlap. Fun + games.
I like the sound of your course, good luck with it x0 -

I don't forward these scams but this came from a very reliable friend, and if it stops one person getting conned, it be worth it.
This has been passed around quite a lot lately – read something similar in the newspaper at the weekend so thought it might be useful to pass on.
The new telephone 'scam' has arrived.
I received a call from a 'representative' of BT, informing me that he was dis-connecting me because of an unpaid bill. He demanded payment immediately of £31.00 , or it would be £ 118.00 to re-connect at a later date.
The guy wasn't even fazed when I told him I was with Virgin Media, allegedly VM have to pay BT a percentage for line rental!
I asked the guy's name - the very 'English' John Peacock with a very 'African' accent - & phone number - 0800 0800 152.
Obviously the fella realized I wasn't believing his story, so offered to demonstrate that he was from BT. I asked how & he told me to hang up & try phoning someone - he would dis-connect my phone to prevent this.
AND HE DID !! My phone was dead - no engaged tone, nothing - until he phoned me again.
Very pleased with himself, he asked if that was enough proof that he was with BT. I asked how the payment was to be made & he said credit card, there & then.
I said that I didn't know how he'd done it, but I had absolutely no intention of paying him , I didn't believe his name or that he worked for BT.
He hung up..
Did 1471 & phoned his fictitious 0800 number – not recognised.
I phoned the police to let them know , I wasn't the first! It's only just started apparently but it is escalating.
Their advice was to let as many people know by word of mouth of this scam. The fact that the phone does go off would probably convince some people it's real, so please let as many friends & family aware of this.
This is good but not that clever. He gave the wrong number - it should have been 0800 800152 which takes you through to BT Business. The cutting off of the line is very simple , he stays on the line with the mute button on and you can't dial out - but he can hear you trying (This is because the person who initiates a call is the one to terminate it). When you stop trying he cuts off and immediately calls back. You could almost be convinced! The sad thing is that it is so simple that it will certainly fool the elderly and vulnerable.

Everyone seems to be doing really well and time if flying by, it will soon be christmas :j I had an awful day yesterday, nothing went right,I've lost 2 keys on my laptop keyboard, so will have to send that off again to be fixed:mad:, I managed to forget my pin number on my bankcard and had it blocked so have to wait for another card and pin number:mad: I forgot DS1 was VIP in school and could go in his own clothes and sent him in his uniform , so had to come home and get him some so he could change, the house is a bomb site as we have been trying to sort out our bedroom, so I things all over the house as I'm waiting for our new furniture of which one piece is being delivered today and another tomorrow, when the rest is coming is anybodys guess

Hi guys, I'm after a bit of help please.
I'm adding small bottles of Shandy/Beer to a few hampers but wanted to make my own Christmas related labels for them but can't think of any good names for them.
I wanted something like Rudolph's nose warmeror something maybe snowmen/santa related as well. Any help greatly appreciated.
Oooh also I wanted to put a list of ingredients on like magic elf dust, any other suggestions for ingredients?0
