Make Snowman Sock (similar to the Monkey socks)
How do you make one of these ? I'm doing snowmen of various sorts -well tubes covered with felt and filled with white marshmallows, jars of 'snowballs', flannel snowman -everyones having a snow related pressie of some sort so always on the look out for something.

Did well at the charity shop this morning (needed bit of retail therapy after dentist ) Two brand new scrapbooks complete with all the paper and stick on bits...£3.......pressie for me.............:rotfl:
And box of sponges shaped like people (heads, trousers, legs and arms) for little grandson to paint with......50p

Mousemat has now become two door knob hangers...........not too pleased with one of them so might alter it tomorrow.
    Better day than yesterday :j
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

However, I need some suggestions for LITTLE things to go in the crackers. I obviously don't want to be spending a fortune, but I don't want them to be little cheap nasty things either (the types of things you normally get in cheap crackers which I actually love!! lol).

For New years eve, I could possibly do miniatures, but it's not very imaginative..... for Christmas day I couldn't as they're not big drinkers....

    Any thoughts at all?

    Thanks all!!

Cracker ideas for ladies: Lipbalm, earrings (Primark and Asda do nice ones for £1), nail varnish, hair clip, face mask sachet, chocolates, mini toiletries, £1 scratchcard,

Cracker ideas for men: chocolates, sweets, Little Lynx bullet spray, other mini toiletries, £1 scratchcard.

Couldn't think of many for men, they're always more difficult! :)

Just found this recipie in my little book of tricks.

MACADAMIA, CHOCOLATE, AND BRANDY CHRISTMAS CAKE

    500G / 1LB 2OZ SULTANAS AND RAISINS
150G/ 5OZ PITTED SOFT DATES CHOPPED
    200ML / 1/3RD PINT BRANDY
    1 TBSP BLACK TREACLE
    225G / 8OZ BUTTER SOFTENED
    225G / 8OZ SOFT LIGHT MUSCOVADO SUGAR
    5 LARGE EGGS
    300G / 11OZ PLAIN FLOUR
    125G / 4OZ GROUND ALMONDS
    1 HEAPED TEASPOON CINNAMON
100G /3 1/2OZ DARK CHOCOLATE FINELY CHOPPED (IDEALLY IN A FOOD PROCESSOR)
    250G / 9OZ MACADEMIA NUTS HALFED

    NEED
23CM / 9IN CAKE TIN GREASED AND LINED WITH A DOUBLE LAYER OF GREASEPROOF PAPER- NEEDS TO BE AN INCH ABOVE TIN LEVEL
WRAP OUTSIDE WITH NEWSPAPER AS HIGH AS GREASEPROOF PAPER AND SECURE WITH STRING

    METHOD
    1. IN A LARGE BOWL, ADD SULTANAS, RAISINS AND DATES, ADD BRANDY AND TREACLE, THEN STIR. LEAVE OVERNIGHT TO SOAK.

    2. PREHEAT AN OVEN TO GAS MARK 3/170C /160c FAN OVEN,

    3. IN A LARGE BOWL, ADD BUTTER, AND BEAT UNTIL CREAMED, THEN MIX IN SUGAR TILL LIGHT AND FLUFFY

    4. NOW ADD EGGS, BEATING IN EACH ONE COMPLETELY BEFORE ADDING THE NEXT

    5. IN ANOTHER BOWL, ADD FLOUR, ALMONDS, CINNAMON AND CHOCOLATE AND MIX

6.THEN ADD MACADAMIA NUTS, TO SOAKED FRUIT, ADD TO EGG MIXTURE, FOLD IN HALF THE FLOUR MIXTURE, STIR WELL, ADD REMAINING FLOUR.

    7. PLACE INTO TIN, AND MAKE A DIP INTO CENTRE OF MIXTURE.

    8. PRESS ANY FRUITS AND NUTS BELOW THE SURFACE TO PREVENT THEM BURNING.

    9. PLACE IN MIDDLE OF OVEN, AND BAKE FOR 2 HRS, OR TILL A SKEWER COMES OUT CLEAN.

    10. COOL IN TIN, THEN TURN OUT UPSIDE DOWN, ONTO A WIRE RACK TO COOL COMPLETELY

    TIP
ONCE COOKED !!!!! THE SURFACE WITH A SKEWER AND POUR OVER ABOUT 2 TABLESPOONS BRANDY EVERY TWO WEEKS, THIS WILL HELP KEEP IT MOIST.

Me too! I tend to have my Christmas Day Schedule written out ages before, with times to put everything in oven/ on stove, all done backwards from whenever we plan to have dinner. Everyone takes the pish but it works for me and I hate cooking when I'm stressed. But woe betide anyone who messes it up for me lol!

Everyone takes the pish with me too, they call me the mini general as there is a family friend who we call the general and I've been called her mini me since i was little. I plan everything to the last minute holidays with going to the airport etc, I am really sad but I love it and like you god help the person who tries to go against my schedule:eek:

Sarah im loving all your christmas jokes, Im thinking of printing a load off and putting them in a glass jar and having a joke of the day through out advent
