If you don't find it before you go to bed, gather a load of glass things like wine glasses, casserole dishes etc. and line them up, three deep about 2 inches apart, against the door (only has to be at the opening edge). And take your mobile phone to bed with you. That way, if anyone tries to open the door, the glass will move and smash together and make a noise which will wake you.

:T Excellent idea soappie:T I still haven't found it.

I'd put my trampoline in front of it already. But I will add a few things as you've suggested as well. All that coupled with leaving DS bedroom door open a bit so the dog can get out as well should just about see me sleep tonight........I hope.

TAG - hope you manage to get some sleep tonight! Get yourself some bolts tomorrow, so that you know that you can always bolt your doors from the inside, and if you're going out, bolt one door and lock the other with a key. I have a feeling my insurance also gives a miniscule reduction for having bolts (they need to be 8" I think) as it makes the house marginally more secure...

I'm now up to 11000 steps, so by the time I've made the bed, hung all the cleaning cloths out and generally pottered I should have a reasonably respectable total. I think those of the neighbours who have seen me out marching round and round the block late at night are probably beginning to think I'm slightly mad! I must be getting fit though, as I'm walking a lot faster than I used to, and have no problems with the hill anymore! I think I'm too busy concentrating on getting my total step count up so don't notice!

Jo, tooch - my house would have more cream in it if I hadn't made a HUGE effort. So the living room is cream (natural calico), the bedroom is cream (old english cream), the study is cream (well, possibly dirty magnolia!), the kitchen & utility are white BUT the bathroom is blue (with white tiles and suite!), the spare room is cambridge blue, the hall, stairs and landing (which face north) are yellow and the downstairs loo is bright red!

Right... suppose I should get on and do stuff... so I can go to bed at some point before I have to get up again

I have to say that she's an excellent early warning system. Certainly since I moved into this house. She never used to be bothered by anyone knocking on the front door at my old house. But here she lays in wait at the top of the stairs so she can see someone coming. I pity anyone who leaves their fingers through our letterbox a tad to long.

So tonight she will certainly be earning her keep!!;)

Right I'm off to bed in a mo too read. I'm on R is for Ricochet now!!:D
