I know. We are working on the presumption that we applied for mortgage OH wages are paid into that joint accout and my wages into A&L joint account. All the DD's for mortgage etc come from the A&L account and we use the halifax account for the £5 reward for having over 1k a month going in and as our general spends/saves account so that is the debit card i use for deisel, food shopping etc etc This is the account that we will be using to pay new mortgage so for some reason online helpdesk this as mortgage application been checked they have imputted account number and sortcode fro that account an named is in OH's name only and its overrode the other banking systems and effectively removed trace of me from the account. OH is financially incompetant so I deal with this all, he has a card but never uses it he gets £40 a month cash for his incidental spends so we really are a bit against it. Of course OH starts at 4am so he can't even go into branch and get me cash for food shopping or fuel, DD for utilities and his C card comes out today so I hope they are not effected. My card not due until 23rd or something so hopefully easy to sort then it's my mobile bill and the broadband due out the 8th I think so if those DD's been cancelled I doubt they can be reinstated in time so I will need to sort out another method of payment then.

  • Lordy LP. What a crock of sh** for you to deal with. Ours is all done with the online banking thingy as well, although not Halifax. Amazes me how they just 'delete' you off the records, v irritating. Can you pay everything manually this month so you dont incur non-payment charges and get it all corrected in time for next month?

Went shopping for the dress for the wedding today and zilch . The dress I really liked didnt have my size, wasnt on the website so I cant order it and theyre meant to be ringing me back tomorrow with some more info, useless people. Another trip planned for tomoro......

Not sad at all - I've worked out to halve my mortgage and pay it off in 13 years (I'll be 39) I need to pay an extra £400 a month - not doable right now but something to aim for!

Sarah we are much the same, still have the mortgage to actually be finally confirmed then I go on maternity leave january some time. Maternity benefits at my employer are a bit more generous than the basic SMP for the first 26 weeks but then its only SMP then nothing for the following 26 weeks. We can't do it all on just OH's wage and our emergancy cushion will be non existant come the move. We therefor intend on OPing a small amount each month to round up the mortgage payment each month. Probably to £750 or £800 a month until my maternity pay drops. Other surplus income (about £600 a month) we plan to use to get a cushion behind us and buy the 'needed' bits for house like new bed for DD1 so we can pinch her cot bed for baby. :rotfl:I also have a vauge thought that is I can get into matched betting then I can possibly have stuff we need to buy as money neutral.

On the subject of matched betting does anyone do it?? I have been threatening to start for what seems like an eternity and have now decided once mortgage all done and dusted we will be good to go and i'll start when in new house. :rotfl:Been lurking on the gambling loophole board alot and some people claim to make 1k+ a month which to me just sounds totally unbelievable. I would be quite happy with £100 :)
