Can't believe Halifax deleted you! I rate them well as a bank but simple things they sometimes can't get quite right. It took me months and endless visits to validate an account I opened online for DD.
You got me thinking I need to play with the calculators a bit more!
I have read on someone's diary about them wanting to get into MB a while ago, can't remember who though! I think Billy (Wynnvegas) was going to give it a go though so may be some hints on his diary. 1k a month sounds rather nice!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Afternoon Lilac,
Success!!! Got the dress from Debenhams after trying on about 40 (yes really) and spending 3 1/2 hours in the shop! My mother was ready to clump me one by the end of it........ :rotfl:Just need shoes and bag now.
What is this matched betting thingy of which you speak??! I could go with £1000 a month, although I think that may be a small exaggeration??! Tell me more....
OH has been asked to go to Marseille for 3 days in Dec with work, he's very smiley and pleased with himself as these opportunities dont come up too often and this is the first time he's been asked. Has asked me if I'd like any duty free already!!KimmyCustard :j0 -
Kimmy woohoo on dress. There is a big thread on the GIOL board about matched betting. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=41 have a read at your leisure but it's quite alot to go thru.
GFH - not sure, ideally for February, been missold PPI which is currently with the FSCS as the broker folded. If all goes smoothly they hoped to be in a position to pay out this side of new year. We were going to use that but all dependent on actual amount and when issued.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Have read the first two entries on the Matched betting sticky - waaaaay over my head! Maths never has and never will be my strong point, plus I havent the time to study all the doings needed in order to know what to bet on! Wish I did.......

Kids we have toys from boots 90% off sale in January (moon sand, play doh and peppa pig castle) 90% off summer sale (peppa pig princess carriage and ladies in waiting) Argos rose petal cottage glitch before easter ( house cooker, washingmachine and seat for £13) tesco 1/2 toy sale and the entertainer toy sale. Just ordered DH call of duty black ops.
We have to get PJ's and sweetis for kids, 1-2 little stocking fillers usually pencils/crayons and maybe a little pocket set of books. Order my mum sweets, wrap it all, buy and write cards, find time to make MIL's pendant. :T
Plans for today.... cleaning out loft, wrapping afor mentioned christmas pressies from loft, OH and FIL doing a run to the dump, looking at the daily clicks thread, signing up to some survey sites PammyJ referred me to.
Had official acceptance on offer on house yesterday, wanting missives signed for Friday which may or may not happen all depends on how quick they get survey refreshed so we get mortgage confirmed although that appears to be a formality:eek:. I didn't pick up email until 7pm so i will call solicitor on monday and ask what is it all about. Free standing appliances not included which we expected TBH. I will be hitting the Jan sales for a big american style fridge freezer probably in late december to beat the VAT rise :rotfl:Other than that all is well, my home starting to look a bit bare, cd's DVD's CD player etc all packed up, Books all away bookcase going to the dump as its liable to fall apart if moved and was a cheapo stop gap until we bought another 6 years ago so :rotfl:
I must admit I am struggling with the concept of selling. It will sound totally bizzare but this is/was my home for a long time, I lived here before OH, before kids. Really it has been my home but just someplace OH lived. He is glad it's going and I am not. Obviously it is not big enough so I needed to sell but I am sort of attatched to the place KWIM.
Also I am annoyed about his attitude to this place and moving in general. If it wasn't for OH pi$$ing the best part of 30k up a wall (drink gadgets and clothes and daft cars) then we would of been is a hell of alot stronger position to buy that we are now, we have been spending about £1300 a month paying down his debt and have until end of 2012 to continue doing that. We need a bit of a larger car and we decided as min is the oldest (and smallest) it will be the one traded in, that is totally fair enough but now OH has a theory that because we are moving into dundee from being outside it that we should just sell my car and use the money to pay off his debt some more, he will drive his car to work as normal and I can get a bus if i need to go out as we are close to a goodish service.
He cannot understand why this option is just not practical, firstly newborn in pram, 2yo and 4yo on a bus no way, 2ndly dd1 starts nursery at 9am I would need to be on bus at 7:30 or something. Not only that but biggest of all, I have had a car since i was 17, I worked my butt off then and now to tax, insure, maintain, put fuel in MY car. Why should I lose MY car because he was imature and irresponsible??? Not to mention I am due some PPI compensation no idea how much but 3k+ by my rough calculations and its in the final stages with the FSCS basically broker caught commiting fraud and forging stuff so been a nightmare. Looks like possible closure before christmas. that plus trade in value on mine should give us a nice 5 ish grand to spend on a newer larger car and I am of the opinion that we should do that as really it's my car, my compo both done pre OH arriving on the scean so I should have final say on what happens to the cash and my say is I want to buy a Audi:D:D
Yes totally vain I know but I hate MPV's, I sometimes have to visit clients and really, nothing against those who have them, but a zaferia or a picasso just doesn't cut it, I have a renault F1 addition, she is nearly 9 but had for 7 years, spotless and a private plate so she doesn't look her age KWIM. hell i sound so so vain :rotfl: Also i work for a small accountancy firm very very male doninated world, driving a mum van is not good for image and TBH progression.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
No way should you have to get the bus!!!! Like you say, you have worked hard to get where you are and i say treat yourself, esp with PPI claim on its way. Can't roll up to clients on the bus either can you!
Well done on being so organised with the christmas shopping, you've got brilliant presents at excellent prices. Think I may try and finalise mine this week as DH has a week off work. Need to find somewhere more suitable to keep them too after finding DD having a nose in the spare room yesterday!!!
Where are you getting COD - Black ops from? DH is buying it for himself out of his hefty personal spends budget but would like to see him get it as cheap as possible so he has an extra few £££ in his pocket!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
lilac Just. Say. No. Money from before he was on the scene should be more your decision than his. Especially if you're helping to "rehabilitate" his finances.
None of the boys with pregnant women are behaving very well today, maybe its Halloween! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
