we have a mortgage update :) all progressing smoothly, mortgage company waiting on updated home report for the house we are buying which is apparently in hand and confirmation of amount of children we have from child benefit and that letter arrived today so OH is currently dropping it in to broker so :). Everything going normally with our sale so woohoo.

OH gets paid tomorrow which is fun we plan on slapping a fair wack into a savings account and buying bare minimum over the next 6 weeks.

Sounds good LP! It's surprising how little you can live off if you're planning to do it :D we're planning to slap a wack into savings too this month and try to live as cheaply as possible. Good luck!

  • Excellent LP, sounds like good news will follow! Know what you mean about store cupboards, I discovered 2 HUGE jars of Marmite that I forgot I bought, we'll never get through them in a million years. We may do by around 2050.........

I also keep buying hair products, its an illness.

Rellies are here from Cornwall now so out shopping for the dress tomoro, watch this space for the result. Will be either v v smiley or v v grumpy and cross cos I looked like a sack of potatoes in everything :rotfl:

Kimmy - you do not want to see my bathroom. I think we have something like 5 tubes of unopened toothpaste and a years worth of tooth brush. I like a firm brush, oh a medium so I am forever buying multipacs only for OH to use one then a few months later say oh we need toothbrushes so i then by another twin pack. Think he has 4-5 singles in cupboard plus shave stuff etc.

Latest is apparently we have no pens, i have therefore just dumped the contents of the pencil case from my desk at his feet. easy 40 pens

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hi LP,

Glad the mortgage seems to be coming along without a hitch. How long do you expect it to take to getting the nod?

Incidentally, I can fully empathise with the daft hoarding of toiletries. We recently counted no less than 18 toothpastes, 29 massive bottles of shampoo / conditioner, 15 cans of deodorant (and that's just me), 10 shaving foams and somewhere in the region of 30 shower gels. In my slight defence, all were at half price or better!

    Cheers,

    Billy

thats what I do Billy. Special offers so i buy one or two forgetting i did the same 3 weeks before.

No idea on time scale. AIP asked for 3 months of everything but when broker did actual application they only asked for most recent payslips. lender is halifax and we bank with BOS so maybe thats why. Hopefully the nod will be very very shortly. I am dying to get it all tied up so I can focus on packing up.

I am so so not amused. Logged on to halifax online banking today to find out how much OH got paid into our joint account only to find it had totally disappeared. 35 minutes on the phone to the online helpdesk and apparently I have been removed from the account. No one knows why it happened how it happened when it happened or how long it will take to sort. My debit card has been cancelled any direct debits in my name like my Credit card has probably been cancelled and my standing orders too but they cannot confirm because my name isn't on the account.

Now I have to wait for 'head office' to add me back on but helpdesk woman had no idea how lon git would take. Oh yeah and this is the company we are applying for a mortgage with.
