Thanks everyone.
I feel we have made the right decision. To put it in context mortgage valuation from surveyor/home report values this at 101k. They offered 83k then 88k we said make it 92k and sorted but they offered 88.5k and dropping such a large amount just isn't viable. 11k is alot to us especially as we are looking at homes in a less desirable area but still acceptable and closer to work at around the 120k mark. It really is the difference between buying a 3bed newish it will do house to a 4 bed victorian needs cosmetically gutted but is a solid and big family forever home.
Still is one of hte viewers offers us 92k its a done deal.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Can't believe they upped the offer by £500. Hope you get a decent offer soon

TBH Jellie I am losing interest. If we get a buyer great if not then not end of world. Even with an 8 week turn around, while is highly unlikely, we would be moving mid december, 12 weeks from today is between Christmas and newyear 13 weeks is 5th January, first day back at work after new year and i would be 35 weeks pregnant. Looking like a probable early induction for me so 37/38 weeks if my blood and blood pressure behaves but the chances of that happening between selling and buying is slim I would guess.
We don't really have much time if being moved pre baby.
I guess you never know they have been told price, upped offer by 500 quid and my solicitor reiterated the price so they may decide after some thoght, looking at others that actually this is worth it and meet out requests. Think they will be nightmare buers thoughMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
I sold last year and had the feeling mine were nightmare buyers. They ended up being bit of a pain but they could have been worse!
Am now hoping you get the right offer at the right time.
Hope you are feeling well

Great news about the other planned viewing. Hold out and I'm sure the offer you will want will turn up.
At least people are still looking for houses , apparently my Ea said that viewings die off a little this month with xmas looming and pick up again next month.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
ack onwards and upwards. Norwich and peterborogh building society are offering a regular savings account with 5% gross interest or 4% net if a basic rate taxpayer one penalty free withdrawal per year with interest paid on anniversary. I will look into that and see about regularly saving a lump sum per month.
The way I see it if a buyer comes great but we cannot be sitting about waiting with life on hold.
I switched OH credit card debt to 16 months interest free last month so £920 to pay over 15 months with min payment being £30 approx. His OD with RBS starts to attract interest in January 2011 because thats him 3 years after completing degree. Also he doesn't use the account so I think they just thought oh well we are removing the interest free bit. There is £2200 outstanding give or take a few ££ which will cost around £30 a month in interest. We need to formulate a plan for that. Store card has £400 remaining and just under 3 weeks until OH payday.
We have a fair amount to put on ebay. Mostly baby bits, I use reusable nappies and went OTT when DD2 due, by the time she arrived DD1 was potty trained during day so we have 5-6 brand new still in packaging napies that seem to fetch 6-7-8 quid each so really I should get bum in gear.
I was missold PPI several years ago but the company has went bust so the FSCS has declared them to be in default so I have a claim with them which has been referred to deloittes so I am hoping i may get a refund. PPI amount was pennies under 2k not including interest so there is an outside chance that not only will I be compensated but to the extent that once cheque cashed i will be able to zero OH old student account but I would imagine we would been to pay some interest before then. FSCS say process can take 6 months which is ok but turn around for some looking at the PPI board has been much sooner, 10-12 weeks in some cases. Needing a plan that is a bit more definate and not so variable.
Solicitor called viewers from last week have upped offer to 89k now. I have instructed him to decline and automatically decline an others unless 92+. House we liked that went under offer last friday is now back on market. Viewers earlier today seemed nice enough, older man and younger woman I suspect father/daughter but didn't ask. she seemed to like decor as its quite mordern decorated, he didn't say alot so god knows. This morning I was happy to be moving onwards and thinking about how baby/cot would fit into our bedroom but now i'm confused and wondering about could we be moved/ will we be moved for baby arriving or soon afterwards.
overall stress levels here still high, i'm quite happy to be here for longer, OH feels we can cope with another year here based on baby being here and in our bedroom for 6+months.
I think we should concentrate on clearing things, saving cash and continuing with our skeleton overpayments to reduce overall mortgage liability.
If we continue as we are 51 months until no mortgage or any debt at all including OH's student loan.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
