It was funny, glad we went to see it to be honest. Will farrell is a funny guy. The film it's self is a subtle p'take for the american cop movies/series.

Casually chic nope OH is a scruffy git and can usually be found wearing jeans and a t-shirt with those 'weenotion' things on it or something from truffle shuffle. You know its bad when you walk into an estate agent looking at 3+ bed houses in the 100-150k bracket and you are ignored. I felt like doing a julia roberts in pretty woman and going back with a wage slip and going ha you wouldn't serve us... big mistake... huge.

  • Well it's been a few days since I updated this, Not alot happening TBH. I have been having a mini freak out about giving birth and about moving. We had to get our AiP extended because it had expired told mortgage man about being pregnant (i have a definate bump but still at the ooo is it just fat or pregnant, best not ask incase i offend type stage and i'm 5'9/5'10 so have a fair bit of room for baby to hide. Anyway told him and also employer offers full pay for 26 weeks then SMP for 13 and he said no problem with that, you wgae slip will show salary etc so good enough for us which suited us fine as even with me on SMP we can just scrap by with increased mortgage costs and no savings but probably the 'affordability' would not be there on paper.

Now lots of random people are telling me you will not be accepted for a mortgage while pregnant, well you can be but the lender will disregard your income. I am therefore getting a bit stressed about it all. I would hate to sell then get turned down for a mortgage to buy as renting here is £££ They want £600 a month for a 2 bed flat and over £950 for a 3 bed semi, mortgage on similar semi's will only cost £700. That extra £250 would be impossible to find.

So mega stressed here, I like my home but it's too small for 4 never mind 5. I really don't know if I could handle the stress of moving into rented then moving again in 6-9 months. We are in Scotland so accepting an offer is forming a legally binding contract and TBH after 4 months on the market Ifeel uneasy about withdrawing but at the same time distressed about having to cut my maternity leave short to effectivly pay someone elses mortgage.

Good things: I have completed my FSCS form and returned it, It is currently with Deloittes who say 6 months to process but may be sooner. I have been following a PPI thread on the boards and some people are getting payouts within 8 weeks. I also started Christmas shopping. KIds nowjust need some stocking bits plus sweets, pj's etc.

    Hi LP

Try not to worry, I haven't heard of that rule before (no expert on it tho!) However, i have a friend who has just sold her house, waiting for deal to go through on new house and is 5 months pregnant and it's not effecting them. Don't they just want evidence of latest income rather than projected income for your application?

    Hi LP

Just looking at your list ( I am a list girl too) I see you are planning on doing match betting. Have you doen it before? I have been reading and rereading the boards, but still a little scared, I will be interested to see how you get on, it may make me have a try

Mennie - I have been looking at matched betting for what seems like years. I have read the guides muiltiple times and understand the concept but a bit unsure/scared about taking the actual plunge and doing it. I have been looking at the MB boards and the MFW boards and alot of people use matched betting for overpaying or for paying for little treats while overpaying so I think the aprehension is something I need to get over to enable us to move forwards in a meaningful way.

LP - my feelings re matched betting are the same as yours, apart that is, from the fact that I still can't get my head round how it actually works... so if anyone out there knows of an idiots' guide, please let me know!!

Thats exactly it QB, I think my apprehension stems from I think I 'get it' but need someone to confirm my understanding with an idiots guide before I take the plunge.

Doing quite well with the grocery shopping this month, Been under £60 the last 3 weeks which is good.

I have worked out I have spent £113.64 on christmas pressies so far but thats it done for the kids apart from pj's undies and sweets plus FIL and my mum. BIL alcohol suits him and he is a fan on baileys so I usually buy him a bottle when on special and make some sweeties.

Mini freakout time. A previous couple who viewed our home, liked but could not get a mortgage with their deposit want to view again tomorrow 'with parents' I suspect that either they have saved a bigger deposit in the last 10 weeks or bank of mum and dad are willing to be bankrolling them. I'm now on a manic cleaning session.

oooh, sounds very promising especially if 'the bank of mum and dad' are coming along too. Shame it's too early to 'nest', you could have really enjoyed the cleaning mission!

Hope the viewing goes well, keep us posted!
