  • This thread has been really quiet. I hope everyone isnt finished their shopping.
  • I've just noticed on Quidco that it's only 35 shopping days until Christmas now... that's only 5 weekends

Actually I'm not doing too badly although half the ladies in my family are getting La Senza pyjamas from the kids!!

As far as I can think I've only got a few presents to buy now but I club together with other members of the family to get those so we can get something bigger

I'm not sure what your budget is but here's a suggestion

Thorntons have their selection boxes for 2 for £5 so that would come to £25 which sounds scary but if you can find something that your BF would like for £5 then you can get the I Love Chocolate hamper FREE with a discount code.

This could be SIL's present or you could split it down as it contains Continental (190g), Belgian Continental (130g), Choc Chip Choccies (115g), Moments (250g), Chocolate Smothered Vanilla Fudge (135g), Dessert Gallery (75g), Original Toffi-Chocs (230g), Milk Chocolate Bar (50g), White Chocolate Bar (50g) and Dark Chocolate Bar (50g).

I'm not sure if I can post the code here but if you do a google search for 'i love chocolate hamper code' you will get it.

If you have a Quidco account you may also be able to get 10% cashback
  • Hi, just found out you could get the hamper without spending the additional £5 as it calculates the value of the calendars prior to the 2 for £5 offer kicking in!

And Quidco is currently up to 15%
  • wow this thread dying! i havent been on in 5 days and theres only 7 new posts! where is everyone????

anyhow; ive spent the day at mil wrapping all my kids presents and im feeling very christmassy! we just have the things that need setting up (shop, kitchen, vanity table and football goal) to do on xmas eve. have also pulled out things for ds's birthday on the 29th dec just need to buy one more present for that and hes done too.

went shopping the other day and got dh the new foo fitghers cd. also got him a 'pimp' cup which is a bit of a joke something we used to laugh at on a tv show. its quite tacky yet cool actually its like a big wine glass in black and is rimmed in diamantes and says THE DADDY also in diamantes so that can be off the kids!

i have bought some fircones (no trees near me) and some gold spray and glitter. i wil spray and the kids can roll them in the glitter.
got some paper chains for the kids to make. the idea is have 24 rings on each and every day cut one off, its a bit of an advent calendar really and will go in the kids bedroom.
also picked up some more decs for the tree although as yet we have no tree!!!!!

dh went shopping for my presents the other day which i was very happy about as he usually gives me the money to buy my own and avoids shops/internet shopping as much as possible. its the 1st time in 4 years that hes giving me a suprise!
although it kinda went wrong; i was at his parents house and his dad took him to get the presents, when they came back he had the sense to take them out of the bag they came in and pop them in a thick reusable bag.
unfortunatly he didnt have the sense to check if you could see them in the bag.

the bottom of the bag was white and a digital camera was facing me! his mum shrieked and he ran out of the room, but ive made out i didnt see anything! im really happy about the camera tho! but wish i didnt know!
hes got me another present which he said cost £80 and im guessing that it will probaly be a printer dock for the camera!

    Hello!
I thought it was about time I posted on here, as I read it every day!
Christmas is a strange time for me, as its my OH's birthday, but also because before him I'd never had a good Christmas, and so I associate it with sadness. I hate opening presents, I'm simply not used to opening presents and I feel so pressured...

Anyway, I love gift giving, so here's what my plan for this week. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know, it's my first year doing it on my own!

For his relatives, I ordered Thorntons hampers, but apparently we can't give the same to both, so I've got a lot of hampers I don't need!

For my little sister I'm making a make over hamper, and have got nail varnish, a bag, and a dress. I'm hoping to find a reasonably priced make over day too.

For my parents, I'm completely unsure, I won't get anything but I feel I should give something if I'm getting his parents something...

Friends I think are all sorted.

So, any advice on anything? I might delete specifics from here in a day or two, in case anyone snoops!

I had an ispiration moment when watching a christmassy film on halmark - one of my friend's mothers has just recovered from breast cancer and this gave me inspiration for the secrect santa hamper. At christmas time we all (8 of us) go out for a meal and we bring a small gift for everyone (only £2-3 max) and we all go home with a lovely hamper. I am doing a breast cancer pink thing. I bought a tray of pink beast cancer awareness coke, 8 pimk flakes (15p each cos a lady was given out 20p vouchers), small pink nail vanishes (90p) tube of pink smarties each (£1 342) just want 1 more pink thing ???? total £1.91 each not bad

thought I'd also ask what is the funniest christmas thing you heard a child say?
my ds is 3 on dec21st he informed me today that santa lives in the norp hole in a hotel !

he also wanted to know when we were putting the farm out (that would be the nativity!!!)

and finally in case you didn't know there are lots of santas but 1 real big father christmas!
