I really wanted to get my sister an old Olivia Newton John film called 'A Mom for Christmas'. But for some reason I can't find it anywhere!!! Does anyone have any ideas where I might find it, I can get it on DVD for the USA region but that's no good :-( x
heres a link to ebay listings :) Depends how much you want to pay and are willing to wait I suppose.....found it on Amazon.com too here with the cheaper international posting it's approx £21 for exchange rates have a look at www.xe.com I've always found them pretty accurate:)
Seems you can pretty much only get in from the US too:rolleyes:

went on a shopping trip today with best friend (not so good if you have to buy their presents) got some good offers - £shop have the little selection packs at 4 for £3, also in 99p shop got a popcorn box, it was silver with a bog of popcorn in it, says something like "for a cinema feel" sorry cant remember and its been put away now. also got him a "dexters laboratory" video from charity shop for 49p, he is 17 but he used to love watching it so thats a little jokey present. got toms advent calendar had them in £shop and 99p shop had a few different ones. decided to do a x-mas eve hamper, putting in it:
    Tom
    pj's and slippers
    igglepiggle toothbrush
    new bob the builder beaker
personalized thomas the tank x-mas book
for me mum dad and brother
snowmen soup/mugs with hot chocolate sachets, marshmallows, and choc sprinkles in.
and either a tin of chocolates or box of biscuits.

hardly got anything left to buy now, just got to finish best friends cocktail hamper, get tom's last pressie, and still waiting on ipoints voucher to go with others for mum&dads sat nav.
cant believe how super organized i am this year - cant wait now soon be christmas!! yay

Hi. Thanks for the info. I have been looking for the small selection boxes for our school xmas fair. Are these the cadbury small selection packs? Which pound shop was it?
If anyone knows anywhere else as well - we need approx 200 and paid 75p each last year.
    Thanks!!

    Hi all,

Almost done with my christmas shopping now!! Just a few more bits to get! Yeay!

I had a bit of a hospital experience last night. Hubby was moving his car slightly (due to tight parking in our street), and with wet shoes his foot slipped off the break. His car shunted quite badly into my car. I was stood behind my car getting shopping out, so it shunted into me, squashed me into our neighbours car, which also shunted into the car behind!! I felt shunted about 3 times, and ended up on the floor with all the neighbours (who are WONDERFUL) around me, hubby obviously distressed and panicking, and ambulance on the way. I was the most calm out of all of them apparently!! Anyway, long story short, ambulance took me to local hospital (who are also wonderful!), only damage I seem to have is severe bruising and swelling around my knee/upper calf/lower thigh on my right leg. No breakages, my kneecap is in tact, and I think my added weight really helped! Lol If I was stick thin my leg/s would probably have ended up in plaster! Yeay for chunky thighs. Also, because of the size of my and the neighbours car, all the impact was on my legs and thankfully no where near baby – who is just as active as normal! So alls ok, just back of my leg sore (think carpet burns/grazes type stinging feeling), and swelling around my knee making it difficult to bend. Could have been a LOT worse!! Hay, plenty of time to potch at home with Christmas stuff! lol

  • Bought my very first present today! Got a little disheartened as my nephew and oldest niece were being complete brats about the presents I got him for his birthday as I put together some £3 DVDs and a helicopter and lifeboat from asda that were about £6 and my sister stuck up for them by saying they knew that they were cheap on there own and she usually got them things like when she went shopping and they normally got a really big toy for birthdays. He also refused to even look at the cake I made him as his mum already "got one she paid for" so the hampers I had planned for them with a gingerbread house and homemade sweets is now a tenner in a card x3 (oldest niece, nephew and sister).

I know I'm very late catching up with this (came across this thread when I was searching for something else) and apologies if it's been said before (have't read all '00s posts) but OMG what a little........

Since the mum also obviously has a problem I would be tempted to say that as nothing you do is good enough for them they can just go without in future, and that any money you would have spent on them will now be going to charity.

BTW the rest of you are all so organised it makes me blush! I thought I was doing well having completed about half my list but I take my hat off to the rest of you - well done!! :T

Hi all, haven't been on in ages as I've been too busy, but I did a big shop at B&M after my shift the other day and got lots of Christmas stuff :j

Werthers (95p per bag) and choc coins (49p per bag) for my pots of gold, chilli sauce for OH's chilli hamper, plus some chilli chocolate from Thorntons, posh tea bags (49p) and mini posh Christmas pudding (79p)for OH's parent's food hamper, Bassets licorice allsorts box for nanna, (£1.69), Star wars advent calender for OH (59p), cinnamon scented candle (99p), reindeer socks, some Mr Grumpy socks for OH's stocking (99p), plus some tree decorations :T

Plus I got a kitty toy for our future family member :o My mam laughed her socks off at me for buying cat toys when we haven't even got a cat yet, but we're going to a local shelter when my first pay goes in so I got all excited! :rotfl:

Just to echo what everyone else has said CD Smiler and hoping you are okay. I am sure your hubby is feeling awful and willing to do anything to make you feel comfortable - milk it for all its worth, stay off your feet and get well. Glad baby is okay, they are so resilient - I know I was 8½ months pregnant and fell up the kerb, I was so worried about little un, but she was fine!
