:santa2:Hi all! Cant believe its that time of year again!!
I was a regular poster on a similar thread last year which was similar to this one but also a place for to do lists that we crossed off - anyone remember? All things to do with getting organised from cleaning/getting the house ready to trying out recipes/buying gifts etc. It really helped me to get myself sorted - is this a suitable thread to do something similar??

  • Anyone know of any decent places to get an engraved whisky & beer glass?

If anyones looking for nice cheap gifts, try out Home bargains for a shining star soft toy, only £2 and you get to name a star and print out a certificate after naming it. Cute idea for people with kids.

i think studio do whisky and beer giftsets with free personalisation if that would be any good? Not sure of prices, but i will have a look for you :D.

Also I got my studio 70% off catalogue today, and there are some good savings, they are doing 50m of wrapping paper for £2.99 with at least 9 designs in each pack. This seems very cheap but I think postage may be high, so maybe only good if you are already ordering?

I've just bought two Christmas magazine. I can't wait to snuggle up and read them this evening once my son is in bed. One of the magazines has a free recipe magazine that looks good :)

This thread has the Santa challenges, is this what you meant? The challenges have been things like cleaning out the kitchen cupboards, writing lists for things etc.

went on a shopping trip today with best friend (not so good if you have to buy their presents) got some good offers - £shop have the little selection packs at 4 for £3, also in 99p shop got a popcorn box, it was silver with a bog of popcorn in it, says something like "for a cinema feel" sorry cant remember and its been put away now. also got him a "dexters laboratory" video from charity shop for 49p, he is 17 but he used to love watching it so thats a little jokey present. got toms advent calendar had them in £shop and 99p shop had a few different ones. decided to do a x-mas eve hamper, putting in it:
    Tom
    pj's and slippers
    igglepiggle toothbrush
    new bob the builder beaker
personalized thomas the tank x-mas book
for me mum dad and brother
snowmen soup/mugs with hot chocolate sachets, marshmallows, and choc sprinkles in.
and either a tin of chocolates or box of biscuits.

hardly got anything left to buy now, just got to finish best friends cocktail hamper, get tom's last pressie, and still waiting on ipoints voucher to go with others for mum&dads sat nav.
cant believe how super organized i am this year - cant wait now soon be christmas!! yay

Right I think I have finally managed a finishing list for my Xmas presents for my side of the family anyway.

    Dad - wine making kit
    bottles

    mum - £29.20 to pay

    Sister - DVD

    Step Mum - Pyjamas
    Bottle of wine

    Step Brother/Sister - £20 each

    Nieces - FINISHED

    Nan - Cup and saucer
    Pen
    Biscuits
    Writing set

    Grandad - Cardigan
    Socks
    Biscuits
    Hot Water Bottle

Then that is my side of the family done then basically but I'm hoping for some extra wages in today's wage packet so should be able to get a few of those done today. Plus hoping to be able to order some of Ben's Xmas bits too. Still need a few things like PJs for his Xmas Eve hamper
    Time to find me again
  • Well i'm slowly getting there bought some wrapping paper and lovey xmas cards at the weekend.
Was stuck for what to get my Grandad until last night. He has a motobility car (new one every 3 years) And up until this car he has been able to get a tape player put in but this time he can't. He is really upset. He has a few CDs but most of his stuff is on tapes. I sugested buying CDs with the music on but he says that they play about with the music and its just not the same!! Well last night I found a way of recording music from tapes on to a CD!!! (using a tape deck, laptop, Itunes and free software Audicity) I'm so pleased!! Thats his present bought, going to get my nan to pinch some of his tapes so I can record them!!
Recently married and loving it x
