I'm struggling to find containers too or baskets.... mite end up just wrapping shoe boxes in christmas paper....0
-
Wrapping boxes in paper is ideal as not everyone would have a use for the basket. I have done ti that way every year.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
-
A good thing about wrapping boxes is it's so cheap but still looks good.. and it doesn't matter if people just throw them away.Sealed Pot challenge #508

I like the idea of wrapping boxes up and using them for hampers, but I'm making two very big hampers for mum and OH's mum, and I cant find anything that everything will fit into, and all the baskets I find in shops are far too small or far too expensive! Im going to wrap up a box for my sisters, but got no idea what im going to do for the mums! On my way to ikea through so hopefully see something in there!
If any one has got any ideas, this is what I need to fit into them..
Oh's mum-
Big bottle of baileys,
Baileys hint of coffee gift set
Cup filled with hot choc, marchmellows etc
about 6 largish jars of sweets
a few large bars of chocolate
and some other things that I cant remember!
Mum-
about 6 largish jars of sweets
about 6 large bars of chocolate
other random sweets from thorntons
PJ's
Cup
Large bottle of alcohol
and probably more that I see for her!
Any ideas gratefully recieved!!
Having an absolute christmas nightmare about what to do on christmas day now through, so if anything I feel quite "bah humbug" about everything now, I dont see why I should put so much effort into things if noone else can even be bothered to make the slightest effort grrrrr!

what about the boxes bananas come in - shallow but big enough. you might have to get some extra cardboard to go in the bottom as there's usually a hole in them . lettuces also come in large shallow boxes...and peppers0 -
Could i ask what sort of things you got? I'm still really struggeling!
Also I'm hoping someone might be able to help me, does anyone have any idea where I could get them mini chocolate graters from that arent too expensive? I found some on ebay but they were quite expensive!
Thanks xx
Haven't caught up with thread yet so forgive me if already resolved. You get a little mini grater with the swartz nutmegs (whole ones) if you're still stuck!

Have finished (unless I find anything else!) my version of a Christmas eve hamper for my two boys -
Cute tin bucket with pretty pictures on (Half cost, 99p) filled with
New pair of PJs (Primark £4, so they come tied with ribbon)]
Slippers (Primark £2.50)
Light up Toothbrush (99p Harpers Bazaar)
Glow stick bracelet (50-99p, can't remember where!)
I may include an edible treat of some kind...
Also got them a cardbard fishing game that was about a £1 from either 95p.com or HB. That will be their pressie from our departing Elf!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I got two little bits for presents today, two chilli spice grinders to go in OH's chilli hamper for £1.50, and a pack of two cute wooden comic book figures of Wolverine and Captain America from Home Bargains as OH is a massive comic book geek. They were £1.50 too, they had packs with Hulk and Spiderman in too. Quite happy as I haven't done and Christmas shopping in ages, and I keep seeing loads of stuff I want to buy but don't have the money for it
Both B&M and Home Bargains have a cheap Wii copy, the console and control look very similar, and you get 30 games built in. Not sure how good it would be, or if you could get more games for it, but I think it was under £20. I'll have a proper look at it tomorrow if anyone's interested?D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0
