It's pouring here still....I just had to take in the onions that I strung up yesterday and hung outside my back door. They are in the greenhouse now.

    What a superb thread.

I am on holiday in the Lake District just now with the caravan. Going home tomorrow and looking forward to seeing the garden. A neighbour looks after it when I am away and he is very good. The family are at home but you know what young ones and gardens are like.

Hopefully I'll see a difference in the 5 days I've been on holiday. With rain and sun, I'm sure things will be shooting away.

ooh can i join in, I only have a small veg patch, just a little square really as I started late with ahvinga fe complications withmy pregnancy, but i have a few peas, sweetcorn bettroot, carrots and spring onions growing, plus my rosmary, lavendar, mint and thyme and chives from previous years a lots of strawberries and Blackberrys are flowering now. Loved the last week as i have had a good bowl full of strawberrys to munch on each day,MMMMM, they taste so good.

Am so glad of the rain today, not least becyuse i am due in 2 weeks time, and i have swelled up like a weeble, but i am going to dig the patch of ground next to where i have planted 9i well rope my kids in, they are loving watching the veg grow) and hopefully grow some more peas and some winter veg. Any suggestions, i have some leek seeds that say they will be ready nov/dec. Think while it is raining though I am going to bake some banana bread for when the kiddos get in from school.

Green tea please, found blight this morning on my 2nd earlies, took it out and I can see no more damaged foliage now, but I will need to keep a close eye on it every day now. Also pulled any dodgy looking leaves on the tomatoes, although I don't think I have it on them, it makes it easier to keep watch,
Just digging over the old strawberry bed to sow some winter stuff and a last minute courgette.

Yes, don't dig. Put weed fabric down and make holes in it where you want the veg, and use a bulb planter to dig a hole, and put the seedling in that. With 2 weeks to go you should not be digging!!!!!

Got some brown leaves on my greenhouse toms but I think its heat damage despite damping down, coolglass and door, louvres and auotovents open. Watching my remaining earlies like a hawk as quite a bit of leaf damage/browning. There is no sign of stem brown patches so I'm not sure yet that its blight but I'm ready to take off all foliage asap if necessary as there are about 30 plants in the bed and I dont want to let the spores get to the tubers and lose the 20-25kg of spuds that will be under the soil.

Sprayed mine yesterday as we had a Smith Period this week. Fingers crossed.
