Hi All,
I was contacted by the studio above and later read all these comments and reviews which made me change my mind. I called them back to be reassured that my deposit would be refunded on the day. I later went to the session that I had booked and found it was worth well over £99.98. Although not to mention I still got my refund. I just can't believe that some people can be so narrow minded and not think that a small deposit is taken for the sake of keeping your booking and then later on refunded back to you anyway. It goes to show that some people can spoil something before it has even began. I wouldn't believe anything on websites like this until you have tried it out, and this post is to tell those people who are sceptical, that not to worry. IT WAS FANTASTIC..0 -

Veeeery suspicious of Short_e here. What's the problem with paying a deposit? It's a PRIZE. You've WON it.
Say I won a TV from somewhere, and the chap on the phone says to me: "Congratulations! You've won a 32" LCD TV! Now all we need is £24.99 in administration charges."
Even worse with the cash wins. "You've won £1000! Now give us £50!" ... erm.. can't you take it out of the £1000?
But yes, I was a semi-victim too. I entered a competition on Living TV's site that had them on there. And of course magically I won. They didn't get me past the first phone call though, though they tried really really really hard to get me to say yes. They kept me on for what must have been at least half an hour!Wins of 2014: *zip*

Given that his (?) only other post is exactly the same as he has posted here, I think many people would reach (and indeed have!) the same conclusion!
Seeing as this mysterious new poster has managed two identical posts, both defending a company that sounds more than a bit dodgy I would put this down as SPAM posting.
On the other thread it appears this studio phones up offering free photo sessions and demands a deposit, then the OP was then told the deposit was non-refundable. The OP reported them to Consumer Direct."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
I've "won" as well recently.
I disagreed with the £40 deposit they were asking for.
So end of call.
Some very interesting posts here - thanks
Also, I enjoyed Short_e post - I like a good laugh!

I've changed my facebook username to NOBODY so when I enter FB comps I press the "Like" button it will say NOBODY likes this0 -
Oh sheesh, I don't know what to do now! Am usually a tough nut but cracked when they caught me unawares... Have paid my deposit but now wondering whether to call back in the 7-day cooling off period to cancel (I HATE the thought ofhaving that conversation and being pressured to give in)
Any consensus from ppl on this outfit?
[ Actually on reflection am not a tough nut at all when caught on the phone or in person - find it hard to be hard! Would be hard as nails advising someone else, but really need to work on my own skills in that area!]MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

I agree, a good laugh is the way foward!! Some people really need to open their eyes and see that a deposit is required to make sure you turn up, my deposit was refunded and actually I had a good time. The people above must only have their last £50 in their account, so I guess this is not for you then! And NO I don't work there either. But thanks for the response, some positive some negative and maybe one day you guys will understand what this day out is about. I also gave 10 numbers of friends that would be interested and they have booked too, my business involves something similar to this and deposit is always refundable, come on people we live in the UK, and always protected in that instant. :beer:0 -
Oh my god!!!! I just got a call from Studio 64 saying I won a makeover session. And after paying the deposit I decided to check up on them. So what can I say? I am terrified now after all the comments I've read. However I went straight to the cash point and checked if the money was taken out already - it wasn't. So I took all the money out that I had on my account to prevent them from doing any transactions. Hopefully they will call back enquiring about this incidence and then I can get rid of them. If not, I'll go over to have a nice day out and then demand for my deposit back
. Hopefully it will work
