well i don't benefit financially from him being here regularly if any thing my financial situation is worse there's nothing i'd like more than to come off benefits hence the CAB appointments and the fact that i'm actively looking for a job!!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

No. Not ridiculous at all.
So you don't think it's rediculous that a single mum on benefits through no fault of her hasn't got the right to date without being penalised or that if she does meet someone on a night out they have to move in with her & take financial responsibility for her & her kids.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

i do find that odd, as we didn't think we were doing anything wrong and the plan has always been to live together when his credit card was at a manageable level.
I thought the same, id love to find someone & settle down but ive only known my BF for 7 months which is hardly long enough to know whether you want to soend the rest of your life with them.
I think it would be irresponsible of me to move a guy ive known a few months into my kids home especially when you have disabled kids & you dont know whether the relationship is going to work out.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

It's rediculous isn't it.

My letter said they would call between 10am - 4pm, obviously because you are on benefits not only are you not allowed to meet anyone but you are not allowed to leave the house either.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

This question of living together or not pops up on here quite alot, and I dont think we`ve yet come to a final decision on the question.
However think of it this way if you were living with a partner who worked away 5nights a week and only spent 2 nights at home you wouldnt class yourself as being single for benefit purposes,or for any other reason.
You definately dont have to be spending many nights together for the dwp to class you as LTGAMW,if you share things like bank accounts, shop together, spend alot of time together then your single status is bound to come into question at some point.0 -
I do know the feeling there! Also i dislike the stigma that goes with 'benefits' I am an intelligent person but because i am young and have children people assume i am some sort of a moron who did it not to work!
Although it was probably for the best as i was feeling quite ill on the day and would have been short tempered at best!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
